Golfsmith Grip Installer Tool:

The special design of this Golfsmith Grip Installer Tool makes grip installation on popular big butt graphite shafts a breeze. While it is recommended for grip installation on oversize butt shafts such as .865" and .700", it also works great on conventional shafts and grips. Simply slide a lubricated slip-on grip over the nozzle and slip the whole assembly over the shaft butt. The tool then slides down the shaft and off.

works well but practice needed
Date:December 28, 2010
I broke the middle back tooth off the first grip I tried. The tool worked, but I did have trouble getting the grip out of it. After several more grips were installed, I learned that proper technique makes installing grips easy.
1. Lubricate the tape, grip and tool with solvent.
2. Insert only an inch or two of the tool into the grip.
3. Remove the tool from between the grip and the shaft early
Even without one tine, the grip installer works well. I wish I knew how a full tool worked, but the one-tooth-missing tool can still work.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Value
Cons: Durability

Grip installer tool review.

I regrip every two to three months. Though this tool made sense. It does not. Very difficult to use as the deep installed into the grip is very important or it will not release as grip is slid into place and properly aligned.
Cons: Difficult to Use

Used on my taylor made bubble shafts, was very helpfull in installing grip on my big butt shafts, can see that this tool will work well on regular shafts without removing the glue at the butt end or getting stuck halfway down the shaft, Would recommend this tool for biginners as well as for professionals I give it 5 STARS *****'s

Useless

This product is a complete failure. It did not make installing the grip any easier and, in fact, broke on the 2nd attempt to use it. Over priced for extremely cheap, flimsy plastic.
Cons: Quality, Difficult to Use, Poor Design, Durability
