Not a Grip For Everyone
Date:January 24, 2006
I recently needed to re-grip my 7i and I decided on the Jumbo Lamkin for a specific reason.
Years ago I sustained a hand injury that effected my ability to fully close my hand. This made it hard for me to hold the narrower golf grips properly. This grip made up the difference and now I can hold the club like everyone else and the club no longer has a tendency to twist on when I hit the ball. This will soon be the grip on all my clubs.
Now to be perfectly honest this grip my not be for everyone. (I have read that using a grip larger than you need can cause your hands to react slowly to your club, I don't know how accurate this information is, but) Some of us have larger hands than most, or problems with arthritis, or even hand injuries. Some may just feel uncomfortable trying to wrap their hands around a narrow grip.
If you feel uncomfortable with the traditional grip size, or you just want to experiment with the possibility of improving your swing. It's worth the $ to walk into a GolfSmith and allow them to put one of these jumbo grips on one of your clubs and give it a swing.
You may be surprised by the results.

Very Pleased!
Date:February 23, 2012
I am close to 52 years in age, and have always been a slicer of the golf ball, whether it be irons , woods or driver... I recently noticed that after my practice sessions, my forearms were becoming fatigued, and realized it was because I was gripping my clubs too tight... I tried to grip them lighter, but would find the club twisting in my hands at contact with the ball if it was not a square face contact.
I concluded that my standard grips ( while I do not necessarily have "large" hands) felt rather small and this was why I felt I had to grip them tighter.
I began researching over-sized grips, and was immediately concerned by the many reviews that said that over-sized grips would only magnify the slicing problem... I debated on purchasing over-sized grips for my clubs for many weeks because of these reviews... I finally took the chance and purchased a set of Lamkin Crossline Oversized grips and put them on all of my clubs.... because of the weather here, I have not yet been able to play a round of golf, but have been able to do some practicing in the field... and have been greatly impressed with the grips! I no longer feel the fatigue in my forearms, and the grips feel so natural in my hands.
And the probelm with the slicing? I found these grips to do exactly opposite to what all of the negative reviews said... I found I am hitting the ball straight with a consistency I never had before, and many of them even have a slight draw to them!
Many reviews also said I would lose distance, because the "swing weight" would be off... not so in my case.. I still managed to hit a few 280-290 yard drives yesterday afternoon during my driver practice session!
If you have ever considered replacing your standard grips with over-sized grips, I would recommend you don't simply rely on what the negative reviews say... but rather give them a try for yourself... you might find they will be very beneficial to your game!
The Lamkin Crossline Over-Sized grips have been one of the best golf investments I have made in a long time, and I plan on purchasing some more to have on hand for the future!
I also bought the necessary supplies to install them myself... which saved a lot of money, and being my first time, found it to be a relatively simple process.

Big Hands
Date:June 11, 2010
I got a set of the over sized grips and a large putter grip for my son. The boy has large hands and this grip allows him to grip the the club and not have his fingers over lap for than they should. He can now swing the club and have a good follow thru, he just love to play now.
