Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by good I put these together, then I had to break it back apart when I found out that the tip had to be cut to get the flex. It would help a great deal to put the cutting information in with the club. I'm new. I'm glad I didn't cut the grip end before I found out. Another problem it took a month to get ferrels I still didn't get any that was the correct size. .370 I got .360 and the .370s were .365 I had to find a local place to get a few the right size. Rated 5 out of 5 by Black to Gold Earlier this year I picked up the Snake Eyes 655TM wedges (51 bent to 50, 55 bent to 54 and 60) with True Temper S300 shaft tip trimmed to 4.25, all cut to 35.5. The heads were flat out amazing, spun the ball like crazy, set up nicely but I felt like I was swinging a 2x4. I like a wedge with lots of feel so I decided to experiment by reshaft them and picked these up because they were cheap, little did I know I stumbled onto gold. Instead of trimming at 4.25 I trimmed at 3.5 and cut them to 36”. I didn’t do all of them at once because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen so I only did my 50-degree. The next morning I hit the course with my new driver the Snake Eyes XTI head shafted with a UST Proforce 75 Stiff, 45” (see my review on that head). On a Par 5 I laid up to 110 yards and took out the 50-degree wedge. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen since I haven’t hit it all day, I fly my 50-degree wedge 115 yards with the old shaft. It has been raining that morning so the greens were soft and ready for attacking the pin. The pin was located in the front so aim for the middle of the green thinking I’ll suck the ball back that was the game plan. So I set up hit the shot and felt the shaft kick hard into the ball, I looked up and the ball was launched into the air hit the back of the green and spun like a race car tire or something cuz I’ve never seen a ball move so quickly and stopped within a 2 foot of the pin. My buddies stood in amazement and asked how I did that, normally when I hit that kind of shot the ball suck back a little not as much as this one did. It was like that all day so that evening I reshafted the 55 and 60 and cut them the same as I did the 50. Over the next couple of weeks I had to re-learn how to use the wedges with the amount of flex and feel they have… I dig this new set up I like the feeling of the shaft kicking hard into the ball, I won’t lie it does rip the ball up pretty good. I play the Srixon URS. Thanks for reading my review, hope this helps. December 24, 2008
Rated 4 out of 5 by Back in black I recently purchased and completed a set of Golfsmith P2 heads with the SE black series shafts. I modified the shaft trimming instructions so that I could get a firm feeling club, and these are absolutely the best irons I have ever had. I have never had high ball flight and distance before, and I've never hit so straight until now. I highly recommend these shafts if you're still a double digit. I'm hoping these will help me improve my game so that I can fit these shafts into my next project, Viper tour irons! February 29, 2008
