Rated 5 out of 5 by One of the best shafts out there 4 handicap and hit my 5 iron 190 carry with these shafts. Coming from DGS300 before and they were just too heavy late in the round. The mizuno shaft optimizer said these were the shafts for me and I agree 100%. The difference is amazing. I have a medium tempo, fairly early release and a mid iron club head speed of 85mph. My driver SS is 105mph. Gained 10 yards of carry, higher ballflight, more backspin and increased accuracy. Another big plus is I don't feel worn out after swinging with these shafts. Great feel. Nearly unmatched in this category. You can really feel the shaft load and unload. The ball comes off on a nice high launch and carries longer than any other shaft I demo'd (PX, KBS, DG). I got the S300 and my 7 iron SS is 85mph. I installed them straight in (.355T) in my Mizuno JPX800 irons. It's great to be able to hit a nice high 4 iron again. August 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than graphite I paired the 685X club head with the True Temper GS-95 shaft. I was looking for something not as stiff as my current Project X 5.5 and lighter in weight without having to go to a graphite shaft. I was finally able to get in two rounds this weekend which is the true test for me for a set of clubs. I am a sweeper and I take a nice small divot but even some thin shots went most of the distance. I felt this shaft allowed me to compress the ball better than the PX shaft. Even though the club is lighter than I am used to the ball did not balloon and I picked up 5 - 10 yards over the PX shaft. I could tell by my ball marks that my ball was dropping almost straight down so the flight chracteristics are exactly what I wanted. One day was very windy and even though the ball flight is high the ball did not hang in the wind. I am very pleased with the shaft and am glad I did not go to a graphite shaft. October 4, 2010
