Had the Taylor Made R9 Ferrule put on this shaft and with my 100MPH swing speed this worked well I have had one of these shafts in other drivers and it performs. Some people with 95-100 swing speeds could probably hit this in a regular stiffness. Drives straghter than the original shaft and its still me.

I bought a Cally with this shaft in it after hitting it on the range. I went in to Golfsmith and found the same head/shaft combo and the numbers lined up on the monitor so I bought it. 2 years go by and I am trying the latest products on the monitor and I whip out my green stick and I am still hitting it 20 yards past the stock options on the new stuff. The salesman says to stick with what I have as it is all in the shaft. I am a believer.

Excellent shaft

I am a firm believer in the shaft being the engine of the club. It's a spring which should be fitted to the individual player. When you find that spring which fits you, it makes all the diference in the world. Well, I found that spring for me in this shaft.
I purchased my shafts at the West Houston Golfsmith store because I can have them "SST Pured" at their shop while I wait. The "SST" service makes a huge difference in playing the shaft. I did so with this NV 65 as well.
I went to the range with it a couple of days after intalling the shaft in an first generation Cleveland HiBore 10.5* driver. I really liked the feel of hitting the ball, however, was not impressed with the flight. The balls seemed to go out about 200 yards and take a nose dive toward the ground. I felt a little low. Not to worry.
I played the next day at a friend's course near Conroe, Texas, and started with my TaylorMade R7 10.5*. I've been having problems with it and decided to try the Cleveland as it was still in my bag.
Oh, my!!! The ball flew straight as a roocket and as accurate as can be often times with a slight draw. Even my playing partner of 15 years was complimentary because he knows I have problems with the driver (if it wasn't for a decent short game, I'd be a high handicapper).
This shaft has a firm feel and specifications state it creates a lower ball flight. I believe the ball flight for me was more mid-trajectory, but regardless, the firm tip allows me to go for it! The feeling is certain everytime I hit the ball...instant solid feedback.
I will probably be installing this same shaft in the R7, and the face of the R7 is hotter. Of course, I'll be getting that shaft pured as well.
I fully recommend this shaft to stronger players.

Replaced the stock shaft on my driver with a pured Aldila NV 65 R. Added substantial distance (ca. 15-20 yards--no kidding) and accuracy (ca. 80% fairways hit) to my drives. Dropped 10 strokes off my average at my regular course with the new shaft the first time out. Highly recommended for anyone considering a new shaft. Have it pured; it makes a difference!
