Clubmaker Dust Contained Shaft Cutter

Are your workbenches and shop floors covered in a layer of graphite shaft dust? This innovative design features a washable filtration system that is built directly into the frame, preventing shaft dust from escaping.

In addition to being environmentally friendly and safe, this lean, mean shaft cutting machine cuts up to four shafts in one pass. The 8,000 rpm motor provides maximum power, ensuring that the 8" rotary blade won't bog down during the cutting process.

Features:

  • Washable primary air filter
  • Replaceable secondary filter
  • Dust and chute collection box
  • Hinged cover for easy access
  • 1/2" and 1/4" trimming guides
  • Heavy-duty industrial construction
  • Cut-off wheel dimensions: 5.9" x 0.9" x 0.12" (150mm x 22mm x 3mm)

Replacement blades (#247544) and replacement secondary filters (#250920) can be purchased separately.

Great Machine
Date:December 18, 2007
First, the bad. This machine is extreamly expensive and is the reason I gave it 4 stars. However, that is about the only negetive thing I can say about it. It is the best thing I've used to cut shafts. Period. The best feature it offers is the dust containment. At our big shop we cut shafts with a 14" chop saw on a $1500.00 downdraft dust containment table. The Golfsmith cutter is far more effecient at keeping dust from flying around. The shaft stop block makes it easy to cut off tips or butts in 1/4" increments. Again, the only reason I wouldn't have this machine in my shop is the expense. But, if you want a well built, easy to use, accurate machine that doesn't blow dust all over the place, you won't be diappointed in this one.

Great Tool for Midsized Shop
Date:July 22, 2006
I purchased this "pricey" tool based on the Golfsmith claim that it collects graphite dust from shaft cutting. My chop saw put graphite dust everywhere and I spent more time cleaning up graphite dust than I did building clubs. My shop is small (the third garage in a three car garage) and I didn't want to install a dust collection system that would "eat up" space or look "unsightly" or "homemade." I am well beyond being hobbyist, but not a "high volumne" or "eBay" shop - I do about a set (Driver through Lob) a week.
The CLUBMAKER Dust Contained Shaft Cutter was the exact answer to my problem. Not only is it a professional looking, well made and precision tool that quickly and accurately cuts multiple shafts (butt or tip), but it collects 100% of the graphite shaft dust - no more cleaning up after a single cut. The combination of being able to cut multiple shafts and collecting graphite dust makes it the most useful and time saving tool in my shop. The easily accesible collection area of the cutter easily holds the remnants (tip and butt cuts plus dust) of 150 shafts - it is very low maintenance - I have not yet had to clean the filters.
Do your homework and buy this tool on sale, at a school, conference or other special offer and you will have a very nice addition to your shop. I highly recommend the CLUBMAKER Dust Contained Shaft Cutter.
