Tour Lock Pro Weight — 30 gr:

Obviously, there have been lots of advances in club technology in the past 25 years. One of the most recent is strategic weight placement, and studies show that when the proper weight is utilized in the grip, overall performance improves. Back-weighting a club has been around for a while now, and the grip itself is, in essence, a backweight, but it's never been easier than using the Tour Lock system.

Tour Lock Pro technology has made back-weighting easier and more efficient by allowing players to easily adjust the feel and performance of any club by adding the optimal weight to each club in their bags. Choose your weight, install and hit the course!

Better Feel, Better Play.
Date:September 29, 2007
After I 'retired' my very old steel shaft clubs and bought new ones with graphite shafts, I kept thinking something must be wrong with them because they just didn't feel right. I tried new grips, but it just wasn't the same. I had resigned myself to just live with it, when I started seeing articles about counterweighting for golf clubs. After much research, I decided to give it a try. It probably took about 5 minutes to install, and I noticed an immediate difference. The club FELT more responsive, and better balanced. Subsequently, I struck the ball better. This held true for every club that I counterweighted. I am fairly jaded and hard to impress, but this is a solid product that delivers something almost intangible-FEEL. It took some experimentation with changing weights and so forth (and once installed, these things don't want to come out), but worked out well for me. This kind of experiment isn't cheap-probably $75 or more for a variety of weights and the grip cutter, and then a re-order of specific weights for each club according to your own needs totaling $150 (?). However, it is way cheaper than buying new clubs every year trying to find some that feel right for you. Overall, this product is not a cure for a bad swing, but will improve the feel of your clubs dramatically if you do your homework and are willing to experiment a bit. I hope this was helpful. There's not much literature available on the nuts and bolts of how to use these things. Good Luck!

take care installing

Unlike a recent writeup in which there is concern about the weight not staying inside the shaft, I had the opposite problem.
You must be careful that the grip tape doesn't fold over into the shaft. The weight was a tight fit before gripping. Grip tape was applied with minimum overlap.
After putting on the grip, I couldn't get the weight into the shaft. So, I tried cleaning out the inside as best as possible. I was finally able to push the weight into the shaft, but now it can't be extracted, so the benefit of trying different weights is lost.
Test the weight in the shaft first. If it is a tight fit, don't overlap any grip tape. If it is loose, you may want to overlap the 1/4 " suggested.

backweighting made easy - Great Product!
Date:January 27, 2007
The tour lock weights are a fantastic product if you want to experiment with backweighting your club. I have found tighter dispersion and no loss of max distance. Additionally, you do not need to use the tour lock grips for these to work. Simply cut a hole in the but end of your favorite grips and install. When you tighten the weight, the black rubber piece on the end expands to hold the weight it place.
