This simple-to-use and extremely accurate Swami 1500 GPS unit provides all the information you need to play your best on 19,000 U.S. courses. The Swami features Insta-Lok Technology, which instantly displays the exact yardage to the front, center and back of the green. The unit stores up to 10 courses at a time and automatically recognizes the course you're on. Includes an internal rechargeable battery and USB cable for downloads and charging from your PC. With belt clip, and Quik Start instructions.

A $9.99 activation fee is required to download course maps to the unit. (This fee lets you download unlimited course maps for one year. Annual subscription renewal is optional) Courses not currently available will be mapped within 48 hours upon reques).

BEST FOR THE PRICE

I have had my Swami 1500 for2 years. It took 2 to 3 weeks to get 2 courses I play. Since then every course I play is on it. Have compared distance to markings on course as well with other GPS units a lot more expensive and distance 99% is within two yards. It is one of the few that are authorized to use by the PGA since it only measures distance and nothing else. Have paid the $10 fee for the second year and well worth the money.

I bought a Swami 6 weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. It gives me the yardage and very accurately. I just don't need all the bells and whistles that the more expensive ones have, I just want the yardage to the hole, and the Swami does an excellent job.

I purchased the Swami 1500 and paid the $9.99 fee to download courses and found that my home course was not on the list, even though all of my friends have the same course on their GPS course lists (different brand GPS). I paid the $15 to have my course added and I downloaded the course. I went out to my course to use the Swami and it never would acquire any satellites, even though I tried it several times. It would count down from 100 two times and not acquire the satellites and then automatically shut down. I thought the price for this device was too good to be true and now I know why it is on sale.

I made the mistake in purchasing a more expensive Callaway GPS for pure namesake. After being completely disappointed with that GPS I purchased the Swami. I would recommend this GPS to anyone and everyone (including my own family). It couldn't have been more simple to setup or operate. It has helped to bring my game to the next level. Get it and you will see, do you really need all the bells and wistles of the other more expensive GPS' or do you just need the distance?
