Score Changer
Date:February 9, 2011
When I first bought Optishot I complained like some of the other buyers; "distance is not accurate, lighting needs adjusting and my score was higher than normal..." However, it was a gift from my wife, so I had to keep it. As I continued to use the simulator I noticed that my friends were actually doing much better than me. Their swing speeds were higher and their ball flights were straighter. I then realized that even if the information is not dead accurate it is still telling me something...I need to improve. After weeks of playing I learned how to swing my clubs precisely for fades and draws. I then changed my grip and experimented with different swing motions and slowly improved my swing speed by 15 mph. My score went from 110 to 80. Next I tried what I learned on the range..and wow. It is unreal how my game has improved.
The truth of the matter is as much as I love golf, I hate going to the range. I did not see much improvement at the range anyway, not enough true feedback. However, with this device, I can accurately measure the impacts of changes in my swing. Practicing is now fun and more importantly, effective. I can even take my Optishot to the range with me and compare results. I am about a 8 handicap, but I think my score will go down much further. If you use this game as feedback to improve your swing and ability to the work the ball, it will give you excellent feedback and assist in lowering your score. This purchase has reduced my score more than any new driver or putter could of ever done. I learned to stop complaining and start swinging...correctly...

Misinformed

I was extremely excited to purchase and play on the Optishot. It certainly looks like a blast but I had 2 MAJOR problems.
1. It CANNOT be used outdoors and indoor lighting has to be perfect with no shadows and right type of lights for it to read shots accurately.
2. The information states you need 8'6" ceilings. I have 9' ceilings but still can't swing anything more than a wedge without hitting the ceiling. If you are a tall person (I'm 6'7") you really need 10' ceilings to be able to use the product properly.
I returned the product on Monday. Would be great if it had versatility to be used outdoors but no dice.
May be a good product for some but be sure you have the proper lighting and plenty of clearance to take a full swing before you buy.

Waste of time, had to send it back once for screws coming out and the second one does the same. doesn’t have accurate distance for clubs, plus ball flight not accurate also. This isn't just my opinion it’s also my golf buddies. First review i've ever written.

Overall, I liked this product. It gave very good feedback. However, I could not get it to work consistently on my computer. I even ordered new computer drivers to, hopefully, allow the simulator to work. Unfortunately, the new drivers didn't help. I am returning the product.
