Ferrules are required on metal clubheads with flat-topped (non-raduiused) hosels to provide the taper and enhance the appearence of the club. Many Golfsmith® ferrules have outside diameters that closely match those of our clubhead hosels and thus require little or no turning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 25yearClubBuilder Too difficult to install I've used these ferrules for years without problem, but when I recently purchased some new ones I found that the inside diameter has gotten so much smaller that installation requires more work than these ferrules are worth. I still had a couple of these from a few years ago, for which I measured the inside diameter at 0.369, perfect for a 0.370 parallel shaft, but the new dozen that I purchased in May 2011 have an inside diameter of 0.358 to 0.362 . This considerably smaller inside dimension means that you'll either be muscling them on with a tool until they split (if not at install, then within the next year), or you'll be spending a lot of time drilling, filing, or sanding them out until they are large enough to slide over the shaft. I'd recommend you look elsewhere for ferrules. May 25, 2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by RHS90 Does the job. What can you say about a ferrule. It does its job. Would reccomend to anyone who is looking for a short and black ferrule. Good price. On some applications it might be tight so don't be afraid of reaming a little. July 10, 2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by emrussi Good all-purpose iron ferrule I like the look of a plain black ferrule -- I think they look good and of course they match any club head and shaft. The Golfsmith short iron ferrule looks good, is relatvely easy to install (the inside diameter may need to be increased just slightly), and is inexpensive. This iron ferrule gets the job done.
