Aerotech Steel Fiber i80 Iron Shaft:

The Aerotech Steel Fiber iron shaft gives you the feel of graphite with the stability and performance of a steel shaft. A steel "Hoop Wind" incorporated in the shaft increases the dimensional stability during the swing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aerotech Steelfiber I80-R in Callaway Razr X irons I bought 6 I-80-R shafts that were with SST Pured to put in my Callaway Razr X Irons (5<>PW / 1" over & 2 deg up). After measuring the old steel shaft(s) swing weight which had a weight insert at the tip of the shaft (D-5.5). I watched the first Steelfiber shaft install WITHOUT a weight insert (D-4). The logos do not line up from club to club do to the Pured line, but I don't look at the shaft when addressing the ball anyway. My first impression(s) in the Golf Shop on mats, on the driving range at my course(s), and playing a few rounds is how consistent each of the irons feel and hit. At this point I'm not too sure about distance differences, but the trajectory is spot on. My confidence is way up and these newly shafted irons are really FUN to play with. September 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than I expected!!! Wow, am I impressed. This shaft is really very accurate but light. I like a heavy swing weight in my irons and with my Mizuno MP53's the swing weight is perfect. Yes, I can still feel the great Mizuno "flush" feeling when the ball is struck in the sweet spot and yes I can feel when it's not. My concern was losing "touch and feel" with graphite but folks it's still there. I simply have not noticed a huge difference is these shafts in regards to "feel" versus my old rifle shafts. I get about ten more yards with the graphite but keep the steel accuracy. November 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by great shaft this is like using steel but lighter, the price is reasonable July 16, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best of both These shafts were recommended to me by a professional fitter in Scottsdale AZ. I was playing steel shafts in my irons, but was suffering from elbow tendonitis. He said the shaft combined the best of both graphite and steel and he was dead-on right. I was able to gain a tad more yardage without suffering accuracy and I am now pain free. We also used the I80 in my 3 & 4 hybrids for continuity (rather than the I70) which we cut to match swing weight throughout the set. March 15, 2008
