Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Project X 5.5 Graphite Driver Shaft I got this shaft on sale and put it in a TaylorMade RBZ Tour 9 degree dirver. It has performed just as advertised. The ball flight has come down and my distance and accuracy have improved noticeably. December 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Perfect Shaft for Me I have tested different shafts for the past year, and its true at first the project x 6.0 felt a little different compared to the Pro launch Platinum and the Pro Launch Axis which are great shafts. I refused to give up on this shaft. My swing speed averages between 100-105mph, my average drive distance is around 280-292 with a average carry of 267. This shaft only added about 12yards of total distance, but it increased my carry distance 24 yards which is phenomenal. It improved my accuracy tremendously, wherever I aim is where the ball will travel. I scored my best round ever on 11 Oct 12, I shot a 72 hitting every fairway and missing only one GIR. I was fitted for the 6.5 project X but decided to go with the 6.0 best move i could have made. Today I ordered the same shafts for my 3w and 5w. I did not have to recommend it to a friend because they witnessed and contributed to the new shafts. October 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best shaft I ever had 30 yard longer and accuracy is excellent . totaly satisfied with this shaft August 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Project X 6.0 Blue - a great shaft at ANY price!! I am extremely happy with the performance of this shaft. It is very stable, and I have added 8-12 yards to my drives! The added distance is much appreciated, but the best attribute of the Project X graphite shaft is the increase in accuracy. My shot dispersion has narrowed significantly. Now, when I occasionally want to swing for the fences, I have no fear of hitting a snap hook or distance-killing push-fade…. I KNOW the ball will be travelling in the direction of my target in the fairway. I believe the added distance can be attributed to the decrease in spin and the lower launch I get versus the old shaft in my driver - a Fujikura E Fit-On 360; stiff-flex. As far as the feel of the shaft, you can feel the clubhead really WHIP through the ball, while still being very stable. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate the aesthetically pleasing feel of this Project X graphite shaft at around a 7.5. To address one reviewer who thought the shaft had a strange feel, all I can say is this shaft feels very good, but maybe not as pleasing as Graphite Design shafts, which in my opinion, always feel incredible - yes, I am a shaft junkie. Here are my stats: My swing speed averages about 98-99 mph. If I hit the ball really well - on a scale of 1 to 10, say a 9 - my TOTAL distance averages about 278. If I CRUSH a ball - on a scale of 1 to 10, a 10 - my TOTAL distance is between 287-292. I have the Project X "6.0" flex in my Ping G20. That is the Stiff flex, and according to Golfsmith the recommended swing speed range for the 6.0 flex is 100-110 mph. Lastly, when I had this shaft installed by the best clubmaker in Omaha, I watched as they spine-aligned this shaft. I was pleasantly suprised when they could not find any real imbalance in this shaft, which tells me that the quality and consistency of the Project X is better than most - I've had several shafts spine-aligned, and usually a slight imbalance is detected.
