Alidla HMV III Plus Wood Shaft:

Aldila's HMV3 Plus Shaft utilizes their tour-proven HM (high modulus) technology for stability and consistency, but with modified specifications and a low price that better suits the weekend golfer. The more moderate torque values and mid-bend point provide a slightly softer and more forgiving feel that yields optimum launch angles. Lighter weights further enhance the shaft's potential for greater distance.

Excellent shaft for me
Date:August 25, 2009
I have been using stiff shafts (irons DG) and in my woods (ProForce V2, NVS 55, Fujikara, DG steel) and I seem to have a fade issue, so I opted for this shaft (in Stiff flex) when putting together some hybrids (Snake Eyes older hybrids). I did this based on the swing speed and the other specs for the shaft. I cannot express how sweet this setup is.
I am hitting both the 19* and 23* heads straight and I just get a good feeling when hitting this shaft. It seems like when you hit it the shaft is responsive, it seems like you can feel the shaft releasing on impact. Will be ordering this shaft for an old Fire Forged Snake Eyes 400cc head, and another for a 5wd that I have banished from the bag.
If you are looking for a hybrid shaft - I think you will be pleasantly surprised. If you are unsure if you want to put hybrids in the bag - pick up a clearance Snake Eyes head with this shaft and for $40 you have a combo that will exceed your expectations. I play with guys that have all top end TM, Titleist, Callaway, Cobra, etc., equipment and they are amazed with how I hit my self-assembled hybrids.
BTW - My swingspeed with a 3wd on the belltronics swing speed analyzer is 92-94. I mention this, as I was concerned with the stated swing speed recommendations with the stiff shaft.
Pros: Quality, Good Value

Nice Shaft!
Date:November 29, 2008
I purchased a Titleist 906F2 3 & 5wood from a friend of mine you had stiff flex shafts. I couldnt hit them if my life depended on it. I went to my local golf shop to look at shafts but didnt want to spend more than $30/each. i bought these shafts for the price and reviews. They are a nice Regular flex and seem pretty sturdy, not too flimsly. Love em!

This Year's Disappointment!
Date:August 7, 2008
Two years ago when this shaft was just the HMV III I used about a dozen and believed this was the most incredible value in golf components. Alas, this year I have used this shaft in both R and S flex and couldn't be more disappointed. Both flexes have been significantly stiffened and actual weights of both flexes are not 65 gms. but varied between 76-79 gms. My swing speed is between 80-85 mph and I had the old HMV III , stiff flex, in a 3 wood I would consistently hit 210 yds. With this year's model I put a regular flex in a 3 wood and am lucky to hit it 190. HMV-III Plus? Plus what? I can't understand why Aldila had to mess with a great thing unless it was that an incredible value was overshadowing more expensive models! The only thing I can say about this shaft now is that it's cheap.
Pros: price
Cons: Poor Design, weight not as stated, plays stiffer than rated
