Golfsmith Manual Grip Tape Remover:

For use with graphite or steel, this tape scraper won't damage shafts thanks to the special radiused machined edge on the cutting blade that lifts off tape without gouging. NOTE: the blade will scratch the polyurethane coating of graphite shafts, which is OK, but it will not gouge the surface.

Not as good as thought
Date:March 20, 2011
Works pretty good. Not a sharp blade piece. Makes sense so you dont gouge the shaft. If you have old grip tape, or if last regrip used same old take your still gonna have to put some elbow grease into the job. Doesnt get all the sticky stuff off either.
Better than using a screwdrive blade or razor knife, but this is not a miracle tool

Must Have Tool

This tool is a must have that pays for itself the first time you use it. I had a set of clubs with some stubborn tape and soaked them in a bucket of hot water and them used this tool to clean them up. What a time saver.

Works best with a heat gun. Maked short work of cleaning shafts for regriping.

I have used 2 other tape removal tools from competitors and found them to be unpredictable. Golfsmith's version is rigid enough to maintain predictable angles so that I was able to quickly remove tape from seven graphite shafts without damaging the paint and in half the time it used to take.
Pros: Features, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Value, Durability
