Excellent Tool
Date:March 13, 2011
I've been working on clubs as a hobbyist only for about 14 years. I never believed I'd have any need to use let alone purchase a bending vise. However, I did, and this vise worked perfectly.
This is a heavy duty device and worked flawlessly. Recently, I purchased an old set of Tommy Armour 845s, which are about 20 years old. I did not like the distance I was getting on the irons when compared to my PING i10s, however, the lie angles were right on for me. So, I measured my PINGs lofts and adjusted the 845s to match. Then, I matched the lie angles of the PINGs to the 845s and now both sets are the same.
Someone would ask if the vise is accurate. Well, it's all relative to one's desires from the specific iron. I don't have anything with which to compare the vise for accuracy, but it's relative because both my sets are now the same and right on for my distances. This vise allows me to check and change any iron I have to fit me, which is the entire purpose of the unit.
I bought the lazy susan and the vise stand as well rather than bolt it to a lower level bench, and everything worked perfectly. These are all great devices.

A must for any serious shop
Date:October 23, 2010
After my last trip to Golfsmith I had a list of tools I needed for the shop and the Ultimate loft/lie machine was at the top. It is the most expensive piece of equipment in my ship and has turned out to be a great money maker. The clamping system on the Ultimate machine is very secure and the measuring guages are extremely accurate. Irons load easily and are easy to get lined up.
Over the summer I did several adjustments and full set tune ups with this machine and have a growing list of happy customers. The bending bar that came with the machime does leave marks on the hosel so upgrading to the model with the rounds pegs is worth the investment. I am very happy with this purchase. It has elevated my shop to a new level and created a new groups of customers.

Well built and does what it's supposed to. Easy to set up and definitely high quality. My only problem is that the measurements are off by a degree on my machine. Not a big deal because the error is always on one side, so I can just add/subtract 1*. Warning: don't use the bending bar that comes with the machine, it will make marks especially on forged irons.
