Club Bending Vise

An economical alternative to a full loft/lie bending machine, the Club Bending Vise enables precise iron head adjustments at a price one-third of that of many machines. Simply secure the clubhead in the vise using the heavy-duty machined parts, and bend the hosel with the Hi-Tech Adjustable Bending Bar (sold separately, works with any bending machine).

Features:

  • Radiused topline clamp combines with back clamp to better secure heads
  • Brass sole supports further enhance holding ability
  • Iimproved base permits easier bolting to bench or stand
  • Bolts to workbench
  • Holds right- or left-handed heads
  • Works on most irons
  • A magnetic protractor can be used for determining accuracy

Caution: Do not use on irons with medallions in the cavity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by The old saying ,,, Don't try this at home ! Right out the box I found out this vice NEEDS to be bolted to a metal plate "even before" you test clamp your 1st club into it or the brass pins that the sole of the club sit on will be pressed out the bottom.. Have not used it to adjust any clubs yet but I can already see the 1st task at hand is that "the consumer will have to invent" a holding plate for it before they can see if it actually works for it's intended use. Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect for the DIY on a budget Never trusted the results from so called experts and verified that with a loft lie gauge recently. I knew I'd have to do it myself but wasn't interested in spending $500 just to tweak a few irons periodically. This bender fit the bill perfectly. I spent some time practicing on old clubs to get the feel for the pressure required to adjust both cast and forged heads. When clamped down properly, the unit held all iron heads securely. This bender and a loft lie gauge is all you need for non production setup. April 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the DIY er I bought this to bend my own forged irons and its up to the task. I mounted it to a wooden work bench at first but as i bent the clubs the little brass tappet imprinted into the wood, so i bought 1/4 inch steel and put it below the brass taps and its bent great since. I recommend this to those who only do their personal sets. March 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by It Works This is a good vise for the do-it-yourselfer who is not in a hurry to make a bend then remove the club head to check for angle change. If you are in a hurry or doing this commercially, buy a professional bending machine. Hint: Bolt this to a steel bench or, if bolting to a wooden bench, place a steel plate under the vise to prevent the brass pins from pushing out of the bottom when applying pressure during bending. This item does not contain instructions, but I found it easy to: 1) place the head in the vise on top of the brass pins, 2) move the wedge down on top of the head to hold it in place 3) snug the wedge screw slightly 4) intall and slightly tighten the side hold screw to the bottom of the head 5) snug the two top allen bolts 6) tighten wedge screw 7) tighten side hold screw 8) tighten the two allen bolts 9) install bending bar in alignment with club face grooves (lie change) and apply pressure. NOTE: There will be some movement of the club head until all slack is taken up. After this, applying pressure will bend the hosel. 10) remove the head from the vice by loosening all bolts/screws and check the angle change. August 20, 2012
