Golfsmith Water Activated Grip Tape (2" x 18 yards):

This environmentally-sensitive 2-sided tape works great, has no chemical smells or messes and doesn't require solvent disposal. The Water Activated Grip Tape works best by misting with a spray bottle. Simply use 2-3 tablespoons of dish soap mixed with 1 quart of tap water for lubrication (NOTE: do not use soap when installing air-cushioned or ribbed grips). Sets up in about 30-45 minutes, but don't over-douse the grip as water solution takes longer to dry than standard solvent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by It's just tape I was a big customer in the past. Set my shop as a snake eye dealer and built so many sets. Then you pulled the rug out from under me. So thanks I won't be buying much any more, Just a word you won't let me say off customer. March 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect .. IF....you know how to handle First I hated this thing. I used not enough solvent first .. it needs much more then the golfworks one. Instead I used coleman fuel. Was better but still... Anyway, now I'm back with normal solvent. So the tips: 1. Roll the thing around the shaft with rolling it on a table or so. Works nice. It's very hardy to bring it around the shaft properly without that help. 2. fill the whole grip with solvent in order to have enough to make the tape slippy enough! Let it drain out on the back (little hole) to make sure the tape gets wet properly. With these two tips, I actually prefer that golfsmith-tape now compared to the golfworks one (<- takes less solvent, easier to wrap around, harder to remove the protection layer, thinner somehow) even. I prefer it now I would dare to say. October 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Add The Soap! Wonderful product; no more solvent clean up. However, the grips will be very difficult to install unless you ADD THE DISH SOAP as instructed by the directions. 2-3 Tablespoons per quart of water in a spray bottle. Do that, and it's an easy, clean install with solvent mess. August 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use I use this all of the time. And I grip a few sets or more a week. Soak the grips in WARM water with dish soap for about as much time as it take to cut the old grips off and tape them. Get the tape wet and soapy and slide them on. Line it up and wipe it clean. It's easy!!!! The only drawback is the increased drying time. A good long overnight will do.... July 30, 2013
