Callaway Diablo Edge Hybrid
2010 Golf Digest Hot List

The September Golfsmith catalog incorrectly stated the price of the Diablo Edge Hybrid. The correct price that will be honored is above. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion.

The Callaway Diablo Edge Hybrid has been specifically designed to provide golfers a more forgiving, distance enhancing alternative to long irons. They were commended in Golf Digest’s 2010 Hot List for their balance and explosive power. The Vertical CG Optimization uses a 30% thinner crown to help lower the center of gravity, and place it in-line where most golfers commonly strike the ball. This promotes shots that will fly far and high and land soft. The Diablo Edge Hybrid’s unique sole design provides more shot versatility than standard-shaped soles, meaning it’s a bit easier to hit out of less-than-ideal turf conditions – so even if hitting out of the short grass, you can still get a solid strike on the ball. The face utilizes Variable Face Thickness Technology for precision milled and variable thickness across the face for a hotter, more responsive clubface that allows the ball to spring off at greater speeds, which means more overall distance. Finally, an offset hosel helps players square the clubface at impact for straighter shots and provides a little extra confidence when you line up.

Features:

  • Crown Construction: Carbon Composite
  • Material: Titanium
  • Shaft: Callaway Golf Diablo Edge Graphite

Easy to hit
Date:February 13, 2011
My first reaction wasn't very good because I am not very fond of the look at address but I could not say no when I saw the performance. This club is very easy to hit and it gets the ball up in the air quickly. A perfect club for going for a par 5 in 2 because of the high shot that I can hit with it the ball lands softly on the green. Also good off the tee on longer par 3s.

I played Cleveland Halo and Hibore hybrids-- the only hybrids with which I was comfortable. Did not like the newer models in the market, and I went back to the 7 wood setup. I bought the Diablo Edge hybrid on a whim, and I am glad I took the chance. The DE is large and inspires the confidence of a fairway wood. The feel is satisfying, and it works from the rough. The club has more offset than I'd prefer, but with practice I have adjusted. I am able to achieve a lower more penetrating ballflight with the hybrid than I did with the fairway metal. I am very impressed with Callaway's latest hybrid offering.
Pros: Features, Quality, Easy to Use, Durability

Smooth Club
Date:September 27, 2010
I purchased this club to fit between my Diablo 5 Hybrid and my Diablo 4 Wood. It certainly fits the bill. I had a little trouble pulling my shots with this club at first but have that settled out. I really like this club for the 180-190 yard shots.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Value

Satisfied Customer -- Got What I Expected!
Date:July 21, 2010
I recently purchased the Callaway Diablo Edge Hybrids 3 and 4. As a Senior Golfer I do not use any irons over a 6 iron and I wanted something easy to use that would replace my 3, 4 and 5 irons. I am very happy with the Diablo 3 and 4 Hybrids and strongly recommend this product to all golfers and especially Seniors who are looking for a long iron alternative.
