I am 17 years old and have a 3 handicap. Before i bought the X-20 Tours i had the Callaway Big Bertha X-12's. My golf coach told me it was time to get a more advanced set of irons. Soo I then went to golfsmith and tried every set of irons they had and decided on these because I was hitting them farther and more consistent than any other set they had. I ecommended them to everyone at my home course.
Pros: Quality, Durability, workable nad still a little forgiving, all irons are a couple degrees strong

Solid Clubs for 10 - 18 Handicap
Date:July 23, 2008
I have always looked down on Callaway clubs as built for people who are trying to "but a game". But, last year my instructor told me that after a 10 year run it was time to get new irons. He recommended Callaway irons; so, I went through the fitting drill and tried them.
The X-20 Tours are GREAT irons! I am getting about 10 more yards per club, a lower (proper) launch angle, and good forgiveness while still be able to work a ball--within reason. (They aren't blades.)
Here are a few tips.
1. This club is neither a low-handicap nor a high-handicap club. If you are single digit 8 or less or 20+ digit handicap player, this may not be the club for you.
2. GET FIT! Everything I thought I needed in a club (more forgiveness, softer shaft since I am getting older) just didn't prove out during the fitting.
3. Consider a custom order. I did not get a 4 iron, but instead got the Callaway 4 hybrid. This has worked out very well for me.
4. If you tend to over-cook a draw (and I do), this club will help you--it has me. If you push or over fade the ball, consider the standard X-20.
Pros: Quality, Good Value, solid look at address, slightly "heavy" swing weight
Cons: no gap wedge

Bought x-Tour clubs/stiff shaft a year ago got fitted at Golfsmith. I am a 6 handicap, have been playing for over 15 years. Definitely not a great golfer, but regular league player, and get out on the weekends, with the occasional golf trip. OK clubs are definitely workable with zero in capabilities, but you sacrifice a lot of distance. I found I had to drop a club in order to project the ball to the proper distance. Muscling shots sacrifices accuracy, so you are not going to hit these clubs and get both accuracy and distance.
