Cleveland Niblick II Conforming Wedge with Steel Shaft

The Cleveland Niblick II Conforming Wedge is a short iron/hybrid that allows players to simplify the short game for improved consistency. The forgiving head designs allow players to move closer to the ball without choking up for improved comfort and consistency on all scoring shots. All Niblicks have identical head weights, shorter club lengths and upright lie angles for consistent setup and feel. The 42-degree is perfect for lower chip/pitch shots and can replace a pitching wedge distance on full shots. The "all-around" 49-degree is designed for medium height pitches, long bunker shots, mid range wedge shots and can replace a gap wedge on full shots. The 56-degree is a bunker specific design with a wide forgiving sole to drastically improve bunker shot consistency for mid-high handicap players. On full shots, the 56-degree Niblick will produce a considerable amount of shot-stopping spin.

Additional Features:

  • Material: Steel
  • Shaft: Actionlite Steel
  • USGA-conforming grooves

This is my favorite club in my bag. I am a 12 handicap and was looking for a club which I could hit reliably from 100 yds in. This club sets up like a putter. Stand close to ball , aim, swing....it goes straight and delivers a perfect shop everytime. After practicing for 2 weeks I can hit this club anywhere from 60-100 yds.
I cannot believe how easy this club has made my short game....My friends marvel at my consistency!

I bought a 42 degree one to replace my pitching wedge.
Easy to hit!!! First of all, you can't possibly screw up your short game with this wedge. It is designed in a way that you can never hit shots too thin or too fat. Also you have to try really hard to shank a ball. It is extremely easy to hit and extremely insensitive to bad contacts. I am talking about 100 yard pitching shots and 20-40 ft bump-and-run shots.
Good stability!! It is little shorter than other wedges so it feels more like a heavy putter. More stable -> more confidence -> better scores
Not very good for Bunker. I have a separate CG12 sand wedge so I won't use this for bunkers, but I just tried it to see how it performs. It didn't work that well.
Less stopping power than CG series. The ball does not stop like CG wedges. Maybe it is because of the heavier head and the less penetrating lead edge.
So I wouldn't replace the entire wedge fleet with Niblick because it can't do everything that a conventional wedge can do.
Overall, I highly recommend to bad short gamers like myself.
