The Garmin Approach G3 Golf GPS features a 2.6” sunlight-readable, touchscreen display for easy operation and keeps score for up to four players. This waterproof unit is preloaded with detailed CourseView maps, a database of more than 12,000 golf courses in the U.S and Canada. Garmin is continually adding maps to CourseView and there are no subscription fees. The detailed golf course maps provide golfers with precise distance information about fairways, hazards and greens from any point on the course. As you move about the course, the unit continuously updates your position and shows you the distance to each target. Approach the new leader in the clubhouse!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great unit The yardages are spot on which has improved my game. I know how far I hit each club and now I get the correct yardage instead of having to rely on the yardage markers at the golf course which is usually wrong. I have heard that these units eat batteries alive but have found this untrue. I get five rounds in before they have to be replaced which equates to 15-16 hours of use. These units are easy to use and are great. Highly recommed February 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great GPS The S3 is great, I have not encountered a wrong measurement on a dozen courses, very accurate, the best part about it, no subscription, great value and its always with me when im on the course. the only downfall is the power consumption, I use rechargable batteries and I only get about 2 rounds out of it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Garmin G# This is my first GPS system. I researched several other models and liked what was reviewed by others, as well as what this model offered compared to other systems. I have had a chance to play with this system for five full rounds so far. I have to say that it is everything that I hoped it would be. I have found all of the course that are around my area, as well as a few that I will be playing during vacation; I even found a small course up in N. Wisconsin that I played at. The system is easy to use, even when gloves are on. Yardages are spot on. I played in rain and the system with stood the wet conditions. Several of my friends also liked how easy it is to use; I particularly like how it clicks on to my shoulder strap so I can get to it easily. I use rechargeable batteries and they last about 1.5 to 2 full rounds without being replaced; recommend rechargeable batteries. Overall very pleased with my purchase. May 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what I wanted... Great Garmin, exactly what I wanted. I just returned from a week-long golf trip and played 5 different courses in Arkansas, all came up on the unit and the yardages were spot-on. Can't wait to use it on my home course, but we still have snow! I compared my yardages with my playing partner's laser and were within a yard. The ability to move the pin location by touching the upper right corner, and find aiming point yardages was invaluable. I used NiMh rechargeable batteries and got at least 54 holes before needing to change out. I considered the G6 but wanted the AA batteries, this unit is very comparable with most of the features and a lot less $. I also considered the G5, which is very similar except it has a bigger screen. You won't be disappointed with the G3, I know I'm not. March 23, 2013
