Medicus Dual-Hinged 5-Iron

The Medicus Dual-Hinged 5-Iron is one of the best selling golf training aids of all time because it’s simple in design, can be used anywhere and it identifies flaws in every part of the golf swing. The patented dual-hinged design is engineered “break” or collapse when the club is swing, off tempo, out of balance or off the plane. Too much movement, or off-plane movement in the backswing, downswing or follow-through will provide instant feedback. Once you’ve found the properly-tuned motion, the Medicus Dual-Hinged 5-Irong will stay intact throughout, letting you know that you’re striking the ball with a smooth, powerful swing that will give you all the distance and accuracy you’re capable of attaining.

  • Voted the number one swing trainer 7 years in a row
  • Used and endorsed by Jack Lumpkin, one of golf's top 100 instructors
  • Patented Dual Hinge lets you know when you swing incorrectly
  • Teaches you to swing in-tempo and on-plane
  • Instantly identifies the flaws in your swing
  • Helps eliminate slices and hooks
  • Lets you groove the perfect golf swing
  • Hit longer, more accurate shots again and again
  • Can be used indoors or out - at home, on the range, or on the course
  • Improves all aspects of your swing - from the takeaway to the downswing to the follow-thru
  • Helps develop muscle memory so that you develop a perfect and repeating swing

Swing Plane Trainer Only
Date:August 24, 2010
Aparently I have a perfect swing plane. I am a 100+ golfer and I mastered, yes MASTERED this in the first night I had it. I loosened up the adjusters to the point that it was funny, and I could still hit the ball. However, I am still left struggling with body position, address placement, and watching the hit occur. Perhaps having had this club for a few hours has allowed me to recognize what I am doing right and focus on what is wrong.
Just keep this review as a warning. Not all 100+ golfers have bad swing planes. You may want to swing this club before you buy it online.
All said and done, I returned this club at a local store and the staff at Golfsmith was more than happy to let me trade up for a new bag.

I bought the Medicus 5-iron to help me with my swing tempo. It worked! I slowed down from swinging like a high speed windmill to a somewhat gentle, well-timed Fred Couples tempo. I would have added another star but I haven't yet made it to the Champions Tour!
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Value, Durability

Nice Golf Aid
Date:July 7, 2009
I am a golfer who just does not spend enough time practicing to "master" the game of golf. I am a high handicapper, with a problematic slice, that I understand to be pretty typical for "hobby" golfers. I have spent money on golf items like offset irons, oversized drivers, special golf balls, none of which had a significant improvement in my game. The Medicus iron however appears different. I am changing my mechanics and tempo and getting straighter shots and fewer lost balls. My personal review supports the hype, this does work.
Pros: Easy to Use, can hit practice balls as well
