MacGregor Tourney M85T Driver

When the historic MacGregor golf brand was reborn in 2010, it brought with it a mix of traditional, player-inspired clubs as well as some clubs top-of-the-line game-improving technology – the Tourney M85T Driver definitely falls in the latter category. The first thing you’ll notice is the contemporary sleek, dark finish which not only looks great but can reduce glare and keep your eyes focused on the ball. Inside the clubhead is where the game-improving technology lives. MacGregor's Cup Face 360° Technology gives you a hot and responsive power across the entire plasma-welded face. This means high ball speeds and more distance, even on off-center hits. Precision construction technology allowed MacGregor engineers to place the center of gravity low and deep to promote long, high-flying drives. Finally and perhaps most importantly is the Face-Fit adjustable hosel technology. By adjusting the hosel fitting, you can chose and open, neutral or closed face angle, allowing you to shape your drives to your liking, whether you’re trying to combat a hook, slice or otherwise. The MacGregor Tourney M85T driver provides great shot-shaping and powerful performance in a sleek, modern design for players of all skill levels.

Features:

  • FACEFIT adjustable hosel technology allows for a Neutral, 2° open, or 2° closed face position
  • Fixed Rear weighting to generate optimal trajectory
  • MacGregor Cup Face 360º Technology means more distance across the entire face
  • UST Mamiya Axiv Core Shaft Technology

ive been playing mac for sevral years now. i started with the v foil and have been hooked ever since. NVG2 follewed and now the m85t. got this club two days ago and i dont think ill look back... well just to see my buddies drives. great feel and very long. the only bad think i can say about this club is that it did'nt come in a 48 inch shaft length. had to order shaft inserts and have a shaft made in the length i needed.. i would put this club up agianst any on the market.

So Close
Date:April 28, 2012
It changed my game...for a half bucket of balls. Took it straight the range. I was concerned after reading the horror stories of the head falling off. I adjusted it to closed to help my slice. I was hitting long and straight and felt great. Then the head snapped off. I think I hit the ground a little, but not bad (didn't leave a divot). But, even the head flew long and straight.
The hosel looks like the problem. The metal you use the wrench on is clearly much lower quality than every other piece of the club. So sad, I was really enjoying hitting it.
Pros: Quality
Cons: Durability

Best driver I've ever had
Date:April 5, 2012
I've tried many of the top name drivers on the market and this one felt the best of all. I know that you can't really tell how well you hit a club until you actually hit it either playing or hitting it on the range. Well, I just took it to the range and hit a full bucket of balls with it and it performed way above my expectations. I hit it farther than any of my previous drivers and the off center hits went straighter. The ball just jumps off of the face. Even was able to hit a few draws that I could never hit before. I'm thoroughly sold on this driver.
