MacGregor Lady MHT Hybrid

Confidence-building MacGregor Lady MHT Hybrids replace the need for long irons. Easy to hit, great off the tee, and superior from any turf condition, they were a top choice in focus group testing. Cup Face 360º Technology maximizes ball speed across the face, so even off-center impacts fly longer and straighter. A highly visible topline design on the crown helps you square the club at address for straighter, more accurate shots.

The MHT produces a high launch with optimal spin so that shots land softly and don’t release through the green.

Features:

  • MacGregor Cup Face Technology means more distance across the entire face
  • Lightweight MacGregor Hybrid Graphite shaft
  • Low center of gravity for optimum trajectory
  • Construction: Steel

I went to Golfsmith looking for a hybrid club and fairway wood for my daughter who plays HS golf. She absolutely has no confidence hitting her 4 & 5 irons so obviously hybrids were the way to go. I told the sales rep that I was on a tight budget, but I did not want any junk clubs (i.e Zevo, XPC). He recommend MacGregor hybrid and fairway woods. I told him that I thought MacGregor's were junk. My first set of clubs were MG's and I bought them at KMart 15 years ago. He informed me that owner of MG golf during the 1990's drove the brand name into the ground, only marketing to value chains like Wally World and KMart. During the past decade, a different owner bought MG golf and began using quality materials again to build their clubs (remember those goofy Aaron Baddely commercials). The sales rep had me convinced that this hybrid was a quality club despite the cheap price (on sale for $59, org $149). Golfsmith was also running a special, buy 2 MG hybrid or fairway woods for $100.00 total. I ended up purchasing a 5 hybrid, 3 wood, and 5 wood for $150+tax. My daughter, (5'1" 120lbs, 25 hdcap) went out to the driving range and fell in love with all 3 clubs. Her response was "easy to hit it straight and long". She is still leaning a consistent swing from her instructor, but her avg distances were: 5 hybrid 150-160yds, 5 wood 165-170yds, 3 wood 175+. I wanted to feel the quality of her clubs so I also hit them. I blasted the 3 wood over the 225 sign even though the shaft was too flexible for my swing speed. The hybrid and 5 wood were also long and hot off the face. MacGregor, despite it's long golf history, will probably never be able to compete with Callaway,TaylorMade, or Titleist. But, for the money, you can't beat the value of these clubs. Thanks Golfsmith!
