For golfers preferring the performance of a steel face with an insert feel, the Ping Karsten Series putter meets the criteria. An elastomer insert in the cavity provides enhanced feel while maintaining the solid response of a steel-faced putter. Weight savings from the new cavity shapes were redistributed to the perimeter to increase each putter's MOI (moment of inertia) for added forgiveness. Multi-level alignment aids are designed into most models.

Great putter

This putter was purchased as a Christmas present for me, and it fits my slight arc stroke. I have the Anser 2 model. It is a basic putter and is great on fast greens like the ones I play at home. On slow greens, I struggle with it because it does not roll the ball fast. the grip is nice and durable on it and this is a great price for a timeless putter that will always be used by players. The only problem I have is that the lie on it is a bit flat for me but I can compensate for it.

From address, the Karsten Anser looks twice its price tag. The face and the lines are extremely clean. Slightly darker steel is classic Ping. Putts roll pure. The ball hugs the line and goes exactly where you aim. The best clubs have predictable and consistent results, and the Karsten Anser is such a putter. The only drawback is the lack of variable head weights. At the stock 340 gram, it is too light for my 33 inch playing length. Pings new 1959 Karsten has addressed this issue by increasing the Anser weight to 350g. But I would like to see a 360g headweight in the future.

Went back to old style

After using an Odyssey 2 ball for many years I have decied to go back to an old style Ping Answer to help with the very fast greens that I play. Was surprised how fast I adjusted to the change. It is easy to see why this style has been copied so much and used by many of the pros.

Great gift

I bought this putter for a gift and when it arrived everything looked great! it would be helpful if they would put the sticky price tags on a piece of paper attached the the club though, as I had to use goo gone for about 20 minutes to get it off.
