Ping S56 Iron Set 3-PW with Steel Shafts

The size and shape of the blade-style Ping S56 Iron Set 3-PW with Steel Shafts appeals to better players who put a premium on shot control. A steel body design with variable tungsten toe weighting positions the center of gravity for higher launching long irons and more controlled, penetrating trajectories in the short irons. Its patent-pending Stabilizing Bar Technology varies in width throughout the set to optimize each individual iron's center of gravity location. Machined face and grooves ensure consistent performance and precise control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by WOW! I know it's a bit early since it has only been 3 rounds with the new clubs, but so far, I am thoroughly impressed with the S56s. I enjoy the thin topline and the lack of a large offset when looking down at address. I love the thin sole. All go to giving me a bit more confidence at address for some reason. Now, where I aim is where it goes. I was originally concerned about losing distance, thinking that the forgiveness of the previous set of irons (i5s) would be missed on off-center hits, but but that is not the case. This is probably due mostly to the fact that there are fewer off-center hits with the S56s (which I attribute to just being more comfortable with what I see at address). I also thought that the thinner sole would cause issues in the rough, by not having enough muscle or "umphh" to power through, but that is not a problem at all. We will see if the trend for better scores continues, or at least is maintained, but so far, so good. April 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Irons. Best I have ever used. These are the best irons I have ever used. I can hit them at all trajectorys. Consistent distance. Easy to allign. I have played various blades over the years. These irons have a blade look; and, some foregiveness to boot. I am a scratch handicap player, and I would buy these all over again. February 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sweet Have Been Playing The I3+, But Wanted To Try Some New Irons. Looked At The I15, But When I Hit The S56 There Was No Comparison. The S56 Clubs Are The Best Clubs Ever. Have The KBS Tour 90 Shafts Which Are Awesome. Swinging These Clubs Are Effortless and Results Are Great. June 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lower Your Score I have always been a fan of Ping irons. I am amazed at how ping produces new products that performs surprising better than the competition. I recently purchased the Anser irons as a collectors piece seeing that Ping will only produce a limited amount of them. However, I wanted a second pair of irons to compliment the Anser irons. I tried out the new Mizuno irons and a few other forge blades. I then tried the S56 after hearing great things about this cast club. I was completely shocked at how well the Ping S56 irons performed. When I tested the Mizuno and other forged clubs it was on a cold day and the forged clubs punished my hands on every bad shot, and since the clubs were new to me, I had a lot of severe shocks. However, the Ping irons provided the least amount of shock on miss-hits at the same time providing incredible feel and feedback. The flight and the distance from the Ping S56 irons was the most consistent and easiest to repeat out of all of the clubs I hit. I can easily say that these are the best blade irons I have ever hit...period. These clubs will lower the score of good golfers because they are very consistent with distance and trajectory. If you want to impress your friend with looks, go out and buy the shiniest set of forged irons on the market. However, if you want to impress with lower scores buy these Ping S56 irons. The consistency and forgiveness will lower your score. Try it.... January 28, 2011
