Ping Anser 3-PW Iron Set with Steel Shafts

The Ping Anser Iron Set has a forged, multi-metal design. The Anser iron combines an 8620 steel body and a tungsten sole to provide unequalled forged-iron performance. The face and grooves are machined for added spin and its hollow sole cavity design improves feel and positions the center of gravity for higher launch. A progressive set design offers forgiveness in the long irons and greater control in the short irons.

I am a 10 handicap and have been a long time ping player, started with the ping zings, ping zing 2, then the i3plus, then the s59 blades, and now the 2010 ping anser forged.! and I have to say they are the most amazing clubs i have ever hit. they are so soft and suprizingly forgiving on some off shots. I can work a ball right to left or left to right at will. you wont be dissapointed! I traded in my s59 blades and got these golfsmith. and i cant imagine using anything else again. I highly recommend these clubs to low to mid handicap players. my 3 iron goes about 220, 4 iron around 200, and the 5 iron is around 185 and they launch high! the mid irons have a great low trajectory and boy can you work the 6789w irons. I drew a ball in around the trees 165 yrds with my 7 iron and stuck it on the green and my playing partners were in awe. they all wanted to test my clubs! highly highly reccomended.. These irons could be played by players of any skill level. If you are a mid-high handicapper and want forged irons, this set is your best bet. February 5, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Missoula More birdies Simply put, Instead of 20-25-30 feet for birdie, now a good shot leaves 5-10-15 feet for birdie. Miss-hits will have you thinking, "Is that shot really going to finish that good ? Wow !" I have played forged clubs for over 30 years and these feel as good as any I've played. They are nice looking also. I bought the 5 - PW Ping Anser Forged, and use Ping Rapture V2 for my hybrids (27, 22, 18) with Rapture 10.5* Driver and 15* 3-wood. My Handicap has been 10 or under for the vast majority of my 30+ years in this wonderful game and this set fits my game very well. Project X 5.5 are equal to my old S300 on the shafts. G-20 driver and 3-wood are on the wish list for next summer. Till then, here comes the snow for the next four+ months !!! November 11, 2011

Rated 4 out of 5 by Manila2010 Anser Irons Got the Anser clubs in May 2010, I live in Asia so I received a Japan spec model. I had a complete set made up, I play the Ping G15 (10.5 with the Serrano X-Stiff), G15 4 wood and G15 hybrid (both with Serrano Stiff shaft), I play 4 - PW of the Answers and use Vokey Wedges (50, 54 and 58 degrees) and a Yes Donna Putter. I came from Titliest 695 CBs with TT DG S300's. I decided on going with lighter shafts for the Ping Ansers and what I have seen is that the longer irons fly lower than my old clubs with distance about the same, the mid to short irons are controllable trajectory wise with distance about the same also from my old irons. The clubs are amazing to look at and are very durable as I have hit them from some hard packed lies and they are handling the wear and tear pretty well as compared to other forged clubs that I have had. They dont feel as great as a Mizuno forging but are very good. Forgiveness is the best attribute of these clubs, hardly loose much distance even on bad mishits, the clubs go thru any turf and rough that you can get yourselves in. I see these staying in the bag for a while. December 4, 2010
