Rated 5 out of 5 by Nothing better... And there's a reason First off-- let me set this straight for some of you: TW DOES NOT use the Blackout. TW uses this here PP58 and sharpies the paintfill. All my real PING homies know that a blackout has a slightly rougher texture (wheras this is smoother and tackier), and is not blacked out-- it's silver paint instead of white. Like a former poster... I always come back to the PP58. It's simply the perfect pistol shape with the perfect velvety uniform feel. You know a grip is good when it's been sitting on the same putter for three years, slick as a board, yet the fit in your hands makes it playable day after day. Sometimes I end up liking a slick one because I don't seem to hold as hard, letting the shape slide between my fingers. For any who might say this grip isn't durable, learn how to properly care for your grips. There's a reason good putters prefer smaller pistols like the PINGMAN-- Without build-up tape, it provides ultimate FEEL of the ball on the face. Having issues with distance control? Throw one of these on and watch your dispersion drop. I've owned at least 12-15 of these grips over the past few years (putting them on different putters for people, many of them me). As a clubmaker, I measure the weight of all components that go on my clubs. EVERY SINGLE PINGMAN has weighed exactly 59.0, 60.0, or 61.0 grams, plus or minus 1/10 of a gram. I never have to worry about grabbing one five grams over that might throw my feel off that tiny bit. Many will say five grams doesn't matter at all but I say speak for yourself. If I throw a grip on that weighs 5-10 grams more than a PINGMAN (and most do)-- the putter will feel heavier yet I'll loose some head feel. If you've never used one of these, buy one and spend 4 weeks putting with it. It may take time to get the feels as the shape of the grip can work for a variety of stroke/grip types. March 9, 2013
