PING Rapture V2 Driver

The mass properties of tungsten and titanium are optimized in the PING Rapture V2 Driver to create a high launching, lower spinning driver that delivers the performance expected from a multi-metal design. The visible, dense tungsten weight pads in the back of the lightweight titanium head expand the perimeter weighting and position the CG (center of gravity) low and away from the face.

The Rapture V2 Driver's 460cc head is slightly elongated by extending the face height and aggressively sloping the crown. The thin face is precisely machined and plasma-welded to deliver higher ball speeds for greater distance.

Longer and more forgiving

This driver replaced the 2007 TM Burner TP Driver I was using. The TM driver had a regular flex shaft w/c didn't match my swing speed. So I had to make my swing slower to control the direction and the slightly open face didn't help.

Then I tried the V2, which answered my problems with the TM driver. It's very forgiving. My drives go straight to a slight draw. I can give it more juice and the 58g shaft will keep the head from dragging. The V2 added 20 yards of carry to my previous driver. I have to guard against being overzealous though and keep a steady pace in my swing.

As for aesthetics, I love the green shaft and the green highlights on the head. I like the fancy head cover, too.

I'm very happy with this driver, especially since I got it at a knocked down price at an official Ping outlet.

Outstanding

I love this driver.
Replaced TaylorMade 07 Burner with this V2 Rapture.
10.5 Diamana Blue Regular.
Long and straight.
Nice feel to the club.
Boring mid low ball flight.
Green head cover is a little ugly.

Great value for one of the best drivers

I found enough of a difference in shot dispersion to make a change from a G10 driver to the Rapture V2. Distance with the Rapture V2 is consistenly 2-3 yards longer as well.

I found the Diamana Blue shaft optimized launch (lower flight than the TFC stock option) using the 9* loft with my 105mph swing speed and smooth not overly aggressive tempo.

The preowned I recieved is in great condition and with Golfsmith being a PING authorized retailer you are assured it's the real deal.

Outstanding Driver

I hit this driver on the range with the stock Ping shaft in a stiff flex and a 10.5 loft. I typically avg 260 with my Callaway driver but have honestly added 15 + yards with the Rapture V2 driver. The side spin is greatly reduced and the higher launch is what added the yards to my yardage. This is definitely one of the top drivers available.
