PING Rapture V2 Hybrid with Graphite Shaft

To ensure forgiving and higher launching results, PING engineers relied on the density of a tungsten sole plate in the design of the Rapture V2 Hybrid Series. The sloped crown design and the 112 gram tungsten sole- which represents 48% of the club head’s mass- allows the CG (center of gravity) to be positioned lower and farther back from the face. A larger head profile and longer face increase the moment-of-inertia for improved accuracy and confidence.

The variable-thickness face increases ball speed and is machined and plasma-welded to the stainless steel head. Each of the four loft options were chosen to blend efficiently into the Rapture V2 iron set to maintain proper distance gaps when replacing long or mid irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Priced Right for a Good Product Solid Hybrid. Ordered this Ping Rapture V2 in 20 degrees left handed, with the Mitsubishi Javeln shaft regular flex in it. Very happy so far, have only played a few rounds with it but it is long and straight and i love the shaft this came with. It shipped directly from Ping so it did take about 2 weeks for the club to arrive finally but when it did it was in excellent condition. Brand New! I have had problems in the past with Golfsmith and shipping products but since this came directly from the manufacturer it worked out better. This club replaced my old Cleveland Halo 3 bird i had been playing for years. Very pleased with the Ping so far great feel even on mis-hits. The grip is a little shaky though, i don't use a glove and in Nebraska it is extremely humid during the summer. So the grip tends to leak quite a bit and if you have any moisture on your hands whatsoever it tends to get a little slick. I put the golfpride Multi Compound black and white on my driver and 3 wood and i love that grip, i have a feeling it will be going on this ping pretty soon as well. Overall though a great club, long and straight with good trajectory and very workable as far as shot shaping. July 26, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent "rescue" club the 20 degree loft makes the hybrid a good replacement for a 3-iron when similar distance is needed. in light to medium rough, it makes great contact with the ball. from a fairway lie, great distance and good control, and the ability to work the ball left or right.
