Rifle Project X .355" Individual Iron Shaft

The complex Rifle Project X Iron Shaft was in development for more than two years, and represents the most advanced steel shaft technology available today.

Each shaft in a set has a different, dedicated constant taper per inch, transferring more energy to the clubhead. The result is a stepless shaft and a ball that rises faster and then flattens out for a more penetrating trajectory.

Bend Points: Mid/High. Step Pattern:Stepless

Flex Equals:

  • 4.5 = Regular
  • 5.0 = Regular +
  • 5.5 = Stiff
  • 6.0 = Stiff +
  • 6.5 = Extra Stiff
  • 7.0 = Extra Stiff +

I recently had the 6.0's installed in my Ping S-57's and 5.5's into my Vokey wedges. Very stable, consistant and the feel is GREAT. As everyone knows thier more $ than the DG or KBS, but overall worth the money if you want a high performance iron shaft....

Great Shafts

These are great iron shafts. They have superior feel and performance. They cost a little more than other brands but if you want the best iron set you can have then the money is worth it.

Very solid iron shaft
Date:September 6, 2010
Before I put these shafts into my Taylormade mb's, I was using TT S300's that came factory installed. When I first bought the clubs, my swing speed with a 5i was around 88-90( not a bad fit for the TT's). I made the switch to Project X 6.5's since my ss with a 5i is now about 95-98 and I knew I had grown out of the S300's. The trajectory of the Project X is great, still goes very high but does not balloon like the S300's. However, you can still hit knockdown shots easily with these shafts. The shafts still feel very smooth when hit properly just as the S300's felt. There is no huge difference in feel in my opinion. The Project X's do not feel boardy or too stiff. These shafts can crunch the ball. On the maiden voyage with the new Project X's, I hit a knockdown 3 iron that went about 230, where my usual max with a 3 is 230-240. I also hit a 6i 190 uphill, so probably a 200-205yd 6 iron. I love these shafts. But, do not overlook fitting. If you don't know exactly which flex is right for you, get fitted and reap the benefits. A bit pricey in the iron shaft department, but worth it.

Good shaft for a hybrid
Date:March 2, 2009
I installed this shaft in my titleist 585 H hybrid (3 iron shaft length, perfect length and tip diameter). I chose the 6.0, which was a guess. I was hoping for something a little stiffer than a DG S300, and the 6.0 is perfect. I gained a lot of control with this shaft, which the stock graphite shaft was lacking. The best part about this shaft is the look. The stepless design is gorgeous and definitely a confidence booster. The launch is cool, different in the way that it doesnt really balloon up at all, but gets up quick and peaks and then just soars and lands soft. Overall its a good shaft. My only complaint is the weight, it definitely has some weight to it, even for a steel shaft. But i was looking to take distance off my hybrid, so it worked out for the better.
Pros: Quality, Look, performance
Cons: weight, price
