Snake Eyes 685BX Forged Wedge Head (Black):

Advanced materials and manufacturing combine to create one of our best wedge designs ever. Fluid forged using a soft 8620 carbon steel, Snake Eyes 685BX wedge heads undergo an 800-ton force forging process, creating a softer feel and increased durability. The wedges have the USGA-maximum groove volume (9% greater than any previous Snake Eyes wedge), by way of expanded groove width. CNC face milling ensures perfect flatness across the face and increases friction between the club and ball. Finally, the tour-influenced sole grind relieves material in the heel and toe for excellent versatility in a variety of conditions.

The Best Wedge I've Ever Owned!
Date:August 1, 2011
I bought the 685BX in 56 & 60 degree to replace two Cleveland wedges. I paired them up with True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 shafts. I tipped the shafts 4.25 inches, as suggested, and butt trimmed to final length identical to the Cleveland wedges. These wedges are head and shoulders above the Clevelands in performance. Great feel and the spin generated is far beyond anything the Clevelands provided. My first round with the 685BX wedges, I had 52 yards left for my third shot on a Par 5. I nipped a half swing on my 60 degree 685BX from a very tight lie. It never left the flag and bit and then spun back four feet leaving about a six inch tap-in for birdie. Four feet spin back from a 52 yard half wedge shot? Amazing.
I wish the 60 degree was available with a four degree bounce also. I play a lot of courses with very firm bunker sand and the standard eight degree bounce is just too much. I will grind some of the bounce off to about four degrees.
I am ordering another two 685BX wedge heads and putting them in storage until I need to replace them from wear. I don't yet know how durable they are since I've only been playing them for a week. After five rounds, there is very slight discoloration on the face probably from the cleaning brush. Great product Golfsmith!. Thanks.

Put this wedge up against anybody!!
Date:July 2, 2011
I have always spent money on my wedges because those are your scoring clubs. Have been playing Cleveland wedges for a while and have now changed to the 685BX. I had a 50 (52 bent to 50), 54, and 58 built and I absolutely love these wedges. I can go ahead and swing knowing that if I make good contact the ball is going to stick on the green. Good looks at address and a nice balanced weight and feel make these wedges perfect for me. Have Golfsmith build you a set of these and you will wonder why you spent 100-150 bucks on a wedge like I did.

Great Wedge
Date:November 12, 2010
I use a 4 wedge system. 48, 52, 56S, and 60. My last 48 and 56 were several years old and worn. So I purchased a new Snake Eyes 48 and 56. This is the best cut wedge I have ever owned. Big bounce 14 degrees, for sand, and box milled grooves. With the right ball, there is no problem in stopping it with this club. I also use this club on all pitches out of our southern bermuda grass. I only wish I could have purchased my 48 in this head.

Unbelievable spin and feel
Date:August 9, 2010
I use this as my all-purpose short game tool! Around the greens it's scary good when paired with a ball like the Pro-V1. Even short chips check up like a full swing wedge shot. Feels like a high end wedge from a big name company.
