Snake Eyes Python XLD Driver Head

The Python XLD Ti Driver improves on our popular Python XL model by using a new precision welding technique. 100% thin-bead plasma welding joins the clubhead's four pieces, resulting in 8-10 grams less weight than traditional welding creates. This allows us to redistribute that weight within the head for optimal launch dynamics and forgiveness. A cup face design featuring Dynamically Optimized CT (DOC) face technology makes the whole hitting surface more lively, ensuring high ball speed off the tee.

Features:

  • 100% thin-bead plasma welding resulting in 8-10 grams less weight than traditional welding creates
  • Redistributed weight within the head for optimal launch dynamics and forgiveness

Great Driver!
Date:July 18, 2011
I purchased this driver in June and assembled it. I really like it. I chose the 9.5 degree loft and used a True Temper stiff flex steel shaft. I have about 20yds. of increased distance and it is very forgiving. Even bad mishits are still playable and longer then my old driver. Overall very impressed.

Not so great
Date:July 10, 2011
Shafted with a UST AXIVcore Green. Shaft is great, LH head is cheap-sounding and has developed a rattle inside after 5 rounds.
Cons: Quality, Poor Design, Durability

Great Driver
Date:March 8, 2011
This driver is long and straight! I cracked my 2 1/2 year old Python XL 10.5 driver head and Golfsmith sent me this as its replacement. I paired it with a pured 55 gram Aldila NV that I pulled from the old driver head and added 10-15 yards to my drives. I was a little skeptical of this head after reading a few pretty negative reviews, but this driver will stay in my bag (until I crack it?). The only negative is the sound it makes when I crack a 275 yard drive, which is why I rated it 4 out of 5 stars. My golf buddies actually love the sound it makes when I ourdrive them by 40 yards--they are actually contemplating trading in their Ping's and Taylor's

The Goldsmith package for a left handed club comes in 10.5 degree loft, but the Python XLD head with a 4996W UST Mamiya Gold 65 FleX A shaft cut to 46" delivered 20 yds more and greater accuracy than my old driver. I hit 15 of 18 fairways the first time out. The "clink" sound takes a little getting use to, but it's the results that I was looking for as a senior 19 hdcp golfer. They sweep away the doubts after the 1 st or 2 nd hole. Novice club makers get instant support on the Goldsmith web site.
