Snake Eyes Tour Platinum 7801 Putter Head:

In four different body styles with three different neck designs, Snake Eyes Tour Platinum putters feature milled surfaces over their 304 soft stainless steel. The Advanced Roll Control (A.R.C.) milling pattern features a series of semicircle cuts, or scales, situated in a 44° upward angle. The width of each scale is 4 mm, compared to the average ball dimple width of 5 mm, so the edges of the scales can catch the ball’s surface regardless of where they make contact. The result? A quicker overspin with less bouncing and skidding, leading to a truer roll that stays on line. Each has a rich black PVD finish with a bead-blasted topline to reduce glare.

With each Snake Eyes Tour Platinum 7801 Putter Head purchased, you will receive a free putter headcover (a $9.99 value).

Snake Eyes putter head

Overall very pleased with putter. A little heavier than expected which make fast greens tricky. Great roll off clubhead and goes straight. Speed will take a while to get down.

disappointed
Date:January 10, 2010
The last clubhead from golfsmith that I enjoyed was the Golfsmith proforged irons. The Tour cavity from that era wasn't bad either. Since then I haven't liked the styles nor the finishes. They just don't wear well. I saw the hype on this putter so I thought I would give it a try. Upon arrival first impression was I was disappointed with the finish. I was expecting a darker finish this looked cheap. The face also looked strange and unappealing. Also as everyone states the head is very heavy and I backweighted club even at 33 1/2 inches in length. After a few putts on carpet in my garage the head already had marks on it as predicted. When I used the club I found that the ball left the face with a unpredictable speed each time I putted. It felt tinny and harsh. When you sole the club at address the club turns to the side making alignment a chore. I know the prices keep going up and I wouldn't mind if the product quality caught up. I'll keep waiting.
Cons: Quality, Difficult to Use, Durability

Great Putter Head

This putter head has great feel and comfort. I was amazed as how nice it felt from the very first putt. Along with the Snake Eyes shaft and Snake Eyes grip, a perfect combination.

Snake Eyes Tour Platinum 7801 Putter Head
Date:October 7, 2009
I wanted to try a "traditional" style putter to see if I could get some control back over the mallet styles I've had most of golf career. This 7801 has done just that. First it is a really nice looking and quality made head. I get a nice solid feel with little sound off the face with my PV1 balls. So the 304 SS is a good choice. No need for polymer insert. Accuracy and forgiveness is what you would expect from a putter of this shape. You get out of it, what you put into it. It's been in the bag for a month now and should stay for quite some time.
Pros: Quality, Durability
