Titleist 909 D Comp Driver

The Titleist 909 D Comp Driver is a 460cc, high performance titanium driver with a full pear profile that produces high launch with mid-low spin and high MOI.

The chassis features a modern shape with a Tour-proven profile to create a low and deep CG (center of gravity) for reduced spin, higher MOI (moment of inertia) and longer, straighter drives. A CNC milled face with thicker, centrally located trapezoidal rings is surrounded by thinner areas to maximize ball speed across the face. The shaped sole provides chassis strength, reduces vibration and tunes the impact acoustics for solid feel and better sound. An extended, full pear profile provides playability through a deep CG for stability while maintaining shot workability and control and an integral titanium hosel design saves weight, provides solid feel and allows for more shaft options.

Feels Great, but too much spin

The club felt awesome on the diving range. It felt great on the course too, but it produced way too much backspin for my swing. Definitely get checked out on a launch monitor before buying this club. The composite head makes the center of gravity very low, which causes alot of back spin if you have a high swing speed and/or steep attack angle. The result is a shot that starts out low and balloons up at the end, causing lost distance. This club was probably 20 yds shorter than my Ping G10. That being said, the feel is awesome and it may be a good club for you depending on your swing. Get checked out on a launch monitor.

Huge Value

The D Comp is a great club, but more than that, the value of buying preowned from Golfsmith saved me about $200 in the end for a club that was nearly new.
