TaylorMade TLC Weight Cartridge

For use in TaylorMade & Rossa moveable weight products.

The TLC cartridge's three-piece construction incorporates titanium, stainless steel and tungsten. Its design was conceived to keep it firmly in place in the TLC port during the swing, yet easy to remove and reinstall. It is completely interchangeable for use in the r7 quad or r7quad TP driver.

When developing the r7 quad's heavier TLC cartridges, TaylorMade's research and development department was challenged to find a way to secure them in the TLC port while also making them easy to remove. TaylorMade engineers solved the problem by devising a three-piece TLC Cartridge.

The first piece is made of heavy tungsten in the shape of a truncated cone, with a hole bored through from top-to-bottom, which accommodates the second piece of the cartridge - a long, thin screw. The third part is a stainless steel retaining ring permanently attached to the rim of the cylinder, like a cap. The head of the screw is sandwiched loosely between the top of the truncated cone and the retaining ring, allowing access to the screw through the center of the ring.

When the screw is tightened, the cylinder descends into the port until the cylinder is wedged within the port's walls, creating what is known as a 'press-fit' - equal pressure on all sides holds the weight securely in place. When the screw is loosened, the head of the screw pushes upward against the retaining ring, dislodging the truncated cylinder from its pressure fit and allowing the TLC Cartridge to slide freely from the port.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 Expensive but great service The weights are expensive, but that seems to be true everywhere, but the service was exceptional. August 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by DIY Swing Weight Adjustment The stock swing weight for the Taylormade R11 Driver is D4.5 with the stock 10 gm heel and 1 gm toe weights. By reducing the heel weight to 6 gms you reduce the swing weight to D2.5. For every 2gms of weight changes the swing weight by 1. While the Taylormade weight is pricey it is cheaper than having the shaft cut down and re-gripped. If you have any old R7 weights they will fit the R11 driver. June 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by True club customization When I bought my R11s driver, I liked the idea of the movable weights. The idea of additional weight options was even more intriguing. I bought a couple additional weights with which to experiment. Quite a difference. I have settled on the 8-gram weight in the toe (instead of the original 10-gram weight) and I am finding, at least for my swing, that this is just right. I tinkered with the 12-gram and 14-gram weights in the toe and that didn't yield the desired results. And, at least for me, additional weight in the heel was not what I needed. Though pricey (if you plan to buy several weights), this is an interesting approach to further fine-tuning of your Taylor Made driver. August 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by A good idea Weights on a club head are not attractive. But the MWT idea is has its advantages. Newer drivers are longer lengthened. I like my drivers at 45 inches. The TLC weights allow me to add weight to the clubhead and after I shorten my driver. This maintains the swingweight and hence the feel of the clubhead. I do not like putting lead tape on my driver, and hot melting can be expensive. A great alternative. August 5, 2011
