The Srixon Z Star XV Golf Balls have a dual-core with 4-piece construction. This golf ball has higher compression and is designed for higher swing speed golfers and will reduce spin off the driver. This ball takes performance to the next level. The Z-Star performance can be broken down into two main features: Larger cores for improved ball speed and softer covers for maximum spin around the greens. The core of the golf ball can easily be thought of as the engine of the golf ball. What is true of an engine, bigger engines equal more power, is also true of a golf ball core. Bigger cores equal more power and more power equals more ball speed. Srixon has produced a premium golf ball with the largest core in the industry. To generate maximum spin around the green, a soft cover is fundamentally important. The softer the material, the more it can deform at impact and grip the face for maximum spin. With a new proprietary urethane compound for the 2011 Z-Star lineup, Srixon has been able to take the already soft covers seen in past Z-Star golf balls and go even softer, leading to maximum control around the greens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by My No 1 Ball [Money no object] Have to say money no object would always pick the Z star over the pro V1 ,it does everything a little better than the pro v1 ,it is also more durable than Pro v something that annoys me when I am playing as in yes that dull white ball on the left is mine [pro v,s do not stop white long ]. I had really been struggling with a snap hook on all of my drives that day and when I took this ball out after I lost the one I was using I was very surprised to see a very nice looking fade come out of it. I wouldn't switch from my current Nike 20 XI-S balls but these are probably a close third after the Bridgestone B-330S balls. August 1, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than Titleist Pro V1 Decided to give Srixon a try after talking to a few teaching pros in my group. Had tried the Pro V1, but thought they had unpredictable spin and cut too easy. Tried Bridgestone Tour B330-RXS, liked it better than the Pro V1, but couldn't get it to spin much and didn't like it off the putter. Love the Srixon off the woods and long irons, great off the wedges and short irons (great spin and workability), and nice soft yet responsive feel off the putter. Ball cover is much more durable and actually WHITE (not off white, light brown). Was able to pick the ball up for $20 less per dozen than the Bridgestone or the Titleist. Won't go back. There's a reason its so popular in Europe and Asia Pacific. Take away the Titleist marketing machine and the best ball is Srixon. July 29, 2011
