Lasted Only 6 1/2 Months............
Date:May 8, 2012
I bought this unit on October 19, 2011 and it stopped working on May 7, 2012. It worked fine for my approach shot on the previous hole (used it and placed it back into my cart on top of the leather carry bag), but when I wanted to use it again on the next hole it was not working. Approx. 90% of the touch screen was blacked-out..
I contacted GB Cust Svc and was told it had a 90 day warranty, and that they would need to see the unit before quoting me the repair fee. Now I understand why only a 90 day warranty.
My recommendation would be to stay with a basic GPS unit. Touch screen and color display provide no real benefit. The GB touch screen is slow/almost non-responsive & much more trouble than it's worth, and adds to the probability of future problems. A refurbished unit will have the same warranty at a much cheaper price. It's very likely my unit will become a refurbished unit for someone else, once I see the repair fee.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Quality, Durability

Very good purchase
Date:January 20, 2012
I live and play outside of the United States and bought the Golf Buddy World because it had all of the courses that I play pre loaded and because their is no additional membership fees.
I had read about the problems with poor visibility in direct sunlight and was a little concerned because I tend to play in very bright sunny conditions.
I have now used this product three times and I am extremely pleased. First, and most importantly for any gps, the distances are literally right on. I figured that there would be a few yards of distance between the course markers and the unit but that has not been the case on either of the two courses that I play on regularly. I have to say that I was extremely happy with this result and it did give me great confidence on shots where I was not near any course marker. Additionally, I did not have any problems with hole recognition when I was playing from another fairway.
I can see where you could have a problem with visibility in extremely sunny conditions if you have the unit mounted on a cart or in some fixed position but I clipped the unit to my bag and had no visibility issues at all with the unit in my hand.
The only minor complaint would be the responsiveness of the touch screen. It works, but is not as sensitive as a smart phone. I tend to use a tee to mark my scores as it was a little difficult with my fingers.

Awful Customer Service
Date:November 21, 2011
This is the biggest mistake I ever made. This unit is hard to see, and has very low build quality. Even worse is customer service. Customer service is well trained to quickly disqualify warranties and refusal to back their products. Do yourself a favor and pick a more reputable brand. This one is plain awful!!! Take a close look at some of the other write ups and you will see this is a very poor built and serviced product. Even Golfsmith could not convince the manufactor to support their product.

You Better have good "eyes"
Date:October 9, 2011
Great features....but you just can't see the screen in the daylight. Also, the "dimming" feature is very annoying and cannot be turned off. I've even sent it to Golf Buddy to evaluate and inspect the unit for defects....they found none. These two cons are enough to not be able to recommend this product for you!!
