Polara 2-Piece Ultimate Straight Golf Balls

DOES NOT CONFORM TO USGA REGULATIONS

The Polara 2-Piece Ultimate Straight Golf Ball features three different kinds of dimples that eliminate hooks and slices by up to 75%. But this firmer distance ball features a Surlyn cover and a high-velocity polybutadiene core that yields prodigious drives. Also like the XS, it has two regions of dimples. On the poles, the deeper dimples lower drag and enhance weight distribution, while the small dimples provide added slice and hook correction. On the equator, the shallow dimples lower lift and establish the preferred spin axis.

To correct hooks and slices, simply point the side stamp arrow at your target. (When the arrow doesnít point at your target, itíll react like a regular ball.) To boost distance with your driver, tee the ball up high and use a driver with a loft of 10.5 degrees or more. To bust your irons, point the arrow toward your target. Polara says youíll gain up to 20 yards. For extra bite on the greens, align the arrow so that itís perpendicular to your target.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Tee 'em high and hit 'em (kinda) straight!) As a weekend warrior just getting back into the game (was away for about 15 years), One of my major weaknesses has been a major slice off the tee. A buddy of mine recommended i try these just for the heck of it. So, searching good ol' Amazon, i came across the Polara Sampler Pack (two sleeves of the Ultimate Straight balls and two sleeves of the XDS balls). So, do they work? Yeah...kinda. On the upside, you will TOTALLY notice the difference once you line it up and tee it off. You can literally watch the ball correct itself at times. Now, is this going to work all the time? NO. If you slice the heck out of it, it will still slice...just not as much. It seems to correct to the point where it looks like a really good fade or draw. The nice part of that is, you won't be spending as much time looking for lost balls as you normally would (and at $25 a dozen, do you REALLY want that?). ON the downside, if you're a regular duffer like me, you will notice that thes balls feel a little heavier on impact. All the subesquent reviews that you'll read about the loss of distance are relatively true. I personally have experienced and lost of about 10-20 yards (depending on how bad I shank it). But such is the price one pays for one of these babies to mercifully find the fairway for you. Bottom line: if you're simply looking to have fun on the links, are looking to gain some confidence in your swing and really don't care if you're PGA compliant, You may want to give the Ultimate Straights a try. But really, there's really only three things that's gonna help that slice: Practice, Practice and Practice. October 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by It Works! I don't usually pay much attention to golf gadgets or gimmicks but I got a box of these as gift. And out of politeness, I teed one up and hit it as hard as I could.... Those swings normally find the woods or water but this one found the fairway. They fly a little wobbley, but they actually correct a slice or hook pretty good. Just point the arrow toward the target and hit it. (You do have to line up straight though) Lost about 10-15 yards in distance, but easier to be accurate. Balls feel a little light, so putting is still a question. All in all, they're fun to hit. Just don't expect to carry that water shot every time. April 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this ball!!! Just played my first round with the Polara and it was great. NEVER hit the ball so consistently straight or hit so many fairways. 11 of 14 fairways hit and the ones missed were in the first cut just off. I took the advice of others and teed the ball up a little higher than I normally do. It seems to "feel" a bit heavier at contact and my distance was a little shorter (5-8 yards mostly) but with the ball in the fairway I can live with it. If I continue to get this kind of performance with the Polara I will make it my regular ball. July 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Polara This ball you really have to hit a 10.5 or higher because is drops very fast. What you lose in distance (10-15 yards) you gain in accuracy. Very neat dimple design. It flies as if it has a mind of its own. June 16, 2012
