Polara Ultimate Straight XS Golf Balls

Featuring a soft ionomer cover material that generates higher spin for better stopping power on the green, the 3-piece Ultimate Straight XS is Polara's high-performance golf ball. One layer beneath the cover is its boundary layer material called DuPont HPF that produces lower driver spin and longer distance. At its core is a soft, resilient polybutadiene core for better feel. The shallow dimples lower lift and establish preferred spin axis, the small dimples provide slice and hook correction, and the deep dimples lower drag and enhance weight distribution.

To correct hooks and slices, simply point the side stamp arrow at your target. (When the arrow doesnít point at your target, itíll react like a regular ball.) To boost distance with your driver, tee the ball up high and use a driver with a loft of 10.5 degrees or more. To bust your irons, point the arrow toward your target. Polara says youíll gain up to 20 yards. For extra bite on the greens, align the arrow so that itís perpendicular to your target.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Polara I bought this ball on a trip to San Diego. The first time I used it you could see the ball fighting to fix the slice. Unfortunately this ball does not cure pushes or pulls. That would be asking for to much. June 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 Great ball for Weekend Warrior This ball is GREAT! The other reviews are correct you will lost any where from 15-25 yds off your drive but you will be playing from the fairway more times than not. I used the ball for the first time last weekend and won! It honestly took off at least 3-6 strokes off my game. I would recommend this ball to anyone who loves to play golf and be confident doing so. Yes if you are looking to drive the ball 300 yrds this is not the ball for you. If you are looking to have great second shot lies and hit FIR's then this is the ball for you! June 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Ball For... After hearing about this ball, reading reviews, and hitting it for a few rounds I am convinced that this is the best confidence building tool in my bag. Its a great ball for beginners and intermediate players. Although it is not legal by USGA standards it is perfectly fine for the weekend warrior. I read several reviews at this site about this ball and was curious why so many "Advanced" players are trying this illegal ball. They don't seem to like the ball and if you are that "Advanced' why would you need it? Just hit your Pro-V1 and leave the illegal balls to the amateurs. I normally hit the ball about 250-275 off the box and I did notice a slight decrease in distance however i will sacrifice 10 yards of distance to be in the middle of the fairway. My long irons sufffered a bit too but my short irons were right on. It's a simple matter of clubbing up on my longs to adjust to the ball. It rolls as true as comparably priced balls. They seem a bit fast if anything at all. As i said earliir, if you're and "Advanced" player you really have no business hitting this ball but if you struggle with accuracy and consistency than this is the ball for you. June 3, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good for some but... I bought a sleeve of these on a whim and chose the "softer" version because I figured the feel would be better. I'm a 6 Hcp who struggles at times with a wild driver, so I figured I could help myself a lot by driving it straight. So I took it out for a practice round and was...totally unimpressed. First of all, I do have to say that, to its credit, this ball does exactly what it says it'll do. It flies straight. I tried to hit draws and fades with it and couldn't. On a couple of holes I set up on the left side of the tee box, aiming right for my draw. The ball started out just a shade right but almost instantaneously self-corrected back to the middle. Then, whatever draw spin it had made the ball move left just a shade, but then the ball self-corrected again, back to the middle! It was somewhat eerie and absolutely hilarious - almost like hitting a gyroscope or something. Besides that, though, the ball stinks. Like others have noticed, I lost at least 20-25 yards off the driver and at least a club off of the irons. For those who think it's a panacea, remember this - once you're off the tee, it acts like any other ball, because you can't line it up the way you would on the tee. (You could, but that's cheating. Then again, theoretically, so is this ball...). Anyway, the worst thing about the ball was the feel. It says it's an ionomer cover, but off of all clubs, and especially with the short game & putting, it felt like a cheap piece of plastic. The feel was just awful, significantly worse than any conventional ball I've ever tried. I suppose that if you are an infrequent golfer, if you have a bad slice or hook off of the tee that is significantly decreasing your enjoyment of the game, and/or you're curious and want to have a conversation starter among your buddies, then go check out this ball. But if feel is even remotely important to you in a golf ball, then look elsewhere. September 10, 2011
