With strategically-placed weighting and a thinner, larger surface area, the sweet spot on this club is the whole face. More distance is just a swing away. The lightweight, 55-gram graphite shaft from UST also allows for increased swing speeds, resulting in further drives. Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Driver I tried all the major drivers, all were very nice the best was the Cobra Amp, it had the best consistency out of all of them. Then I was given this driver and told to just try it. My drives were flying past where my other balls stopped, with no change in swing speed. I'm slightly above average golfer and can usually push a driver to maybe 280 yards. I was hitting this driver consistently 305 to 315, we'll see how it holds up. August 13, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst driver ever!!! Previously, I had the MacGregor M85, which I loved until the head came flying off... So I bought the Tourney to replace it, or at least give me something to use while I am waiting for the M85 to be repaired... This thing is horrible!!! I am a 300 yard hitter, and this thing only puts the ball out there 200 on my best shots!!! Hit it side by side with a $70 clone driver for 300 balls, and the clone blew it out of the water! Rated 5 out of 5 by MacGregor Tourney Driver 2012 - Absolute CANNON! I have the 9.5 degree with the stock stiff UST Mamiya 55 gram shaft (swing speed approx 100MPH). VERY EASY to hit and control with a good feel to the club. A lot of jump off of this face/ shaft combination with a boring trajectory. I try just about everything each year and this seems to be a good 30 yards past anything that I have hit previously, including my beloved PING G10 and G15. I knew I was picking up extra yards, but it really hit home on our tight 420 yard #17, when I was past all my partners and had 120 left to the green. IMHO, this is better than either of the PINGs, which actually took me a while to believe - I was SHOCKED. Like the look, too, especially at address - classic high gloss black crown matches the black low gloss cup face quite well. No busy distracting designs on the crown. Very well made quality product. Price is good, too ($199 plus 15% off Golfsmith discount coupon). Kudos to the MacGregor design team on this one! March 21, 2012
