Ping Anser Milled Putter Black Dot

The Ping Anser Milled Putter pays tribute to Karsten Solheim's original Anser putter head, the winningest design in golf history, by introducing seven new models to fit more putting styles and aesthetic preferences. Each new model is fully machined using 303 stainless steel to ensure the highest quality and performance. By offering different hosel configurations, engineers made every Anser to fit a particular putting path. Golfers swing the putter on one of three paths: slight arc, strong arc, or straight-back, straight-through. So there's at least one Anser putter model to suit each path and help the golfer build a repeatable, dependable stroke that will lead to fewer putts. The Anser, Anser 1, Anser 2, and Anser 3 are mid-toe balanced for a player whose putting path is a slight arc. The Anser 4 is toe-down balanced for a player whose putting path is a strong arc. The Anser 5 is the only face-balanced model of the new Ansers. It is for a player whose putting path is straight back and through. The Anser 6 has the highest moment of inertia of the new models and is toe-down balanced for a player whose putting path is a strong arc.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ping milled Anser putter Like some of the other people said, this putter is top notch! Scotty, eat your heart out. The finish is non glare perfect! And the feel is solid. No matter what type of ball you use. Ping hit a homerun with this one! June 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Put up the Scotty Have putted around at golf smith and PGA probably 20 times and finally was able to use it in a round the other day at a local course. I can say with out a doubt that as soon as I get my next pay check I will be saying good bye to the scotty and hello Anser 2. I have used PING putters my whole life until the past year when i got a scotty as a gift and until i used the milled Anser i thought the scotty couldn't be beat. I can not wait to buy my new Anser. Rated 4 out of 5 by Edgier Ping, lacks feel. Grooves and a new finish are Pings response to the putter revolution. The flat silver is very similar to a Vokey wedge finish, light without the glare. The grooves smooth the face and dampen the sound and feel. While I applaud Ping's attempt freshen its premium putter line, these two features fall short of expectations. The finish almost looks like metallic spray paint. From address, this putter appears half its price. The feel is the most disappointing, dull with a hint of metallic. If I were to imagine putting with a surface of brick, the sensation would be similar. I can feel the grooves but the overall feedback is dead. I have two Redwoods (black satin, starshot) which feel more solid and lively. Aside from feel and finish, the Anser Milled rolls the ball well. The balance is better than the Redwood, and the lines are cleaner. The neck is slightly shorter and more slanted, and the putter sits well behind the ball. Overall I'm somewhat disappointed with this putter. A five year wait after the Redwood was released is a long time. It's a Ping and will get the job done, but I had bigger expectations. Rated 5 out of 5 by Ping has done it again... Ping invented the Anser style used by many touring pros under many other names (the patent only protected the design for 20 yrs 1962-1982). Many discerning users prefer the softer feel provided by milled/machined heads like the Cameron line for example. Ping is providing that but they took their line a step further this year. Informed consumers now know that although we practice putting straight back and straight through many of us actually have an arc to our stroke. I have done 200 fittings for putters since Ping devised this fitting system and have found that although 100% of the people think they take it straight back and straight through, only about 5% actually do. Most users have a slight arc in their stroke. For those that do you will want a Anser, Anser 1, Anser 2 or Anser 3. This new fitting system allows the putter, puttee, and gravity to all work together. Ping is an industry leader in innovation for over 50 years now. Give this line of putters a try. February 5, 2012
