Adams Lady Speedline 9088UL Driver

The Adams Lady Speedline 9088UL Driver is the first in the industry to combine the proven benefits of aerodynamic shaping with perfectly balanced lightweight club construction to give players of all types more consistent distance. Other lightweight drivers on the market have heavy swing weights that are difficult for most players to release, resulting in shorter drives that end up right of the target line. Weighing only 290 grams and with a swing weight of D0, the 9088 UL better matches the rest of a player's set, ensuring more consistent shots from club to club. Designed with aerodynamic technology resulting in faster clubhead speed and more distance, it has a balanced weighting system designed to match your set and perform better with the proven results of being easier to hit and straighter and more consistent than other lightweight drivers. It provides up to 7.5 yards more distance than other lightweight drivers and is twice as aerodynamic, resulting in faster ball and clubhead speed. It produces over 13% more consistent distance and is nearly 12% straighter compared to other lightweight drivers and testers reported the 9088 UL was significantly easier to hit.

Additional Features:

  • Shaft: Grafalloy Speedline 45g

Best Driver I ever owned
Date:May 14, 2012
I usually take a new club to a driving range before I try it on the course. This time I went straight to #1 tee and proceeded to play 18 holes and only missed one fairway. The next day I played another 18 hole and only missed two fairways. Both were due to poor swings.
12.5° senior flex draw driver.
GREAT CLUB
Pros: Innovative, Good Value, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Good Aesthetics, very forgiving

For the "normal" Golfer, the 9088UL is Excellent
Date:February 15, 2012
Let me preface this "review" by saying my 9088UL has a "real" Fuji Blur 55 Shaft at 45 inches and the 12.5 degree head as opposed to the stock setup with the Radix shaft. The stock setup for me is too long in shaft length and the feel is not as pleasing as my setup.
My club maker had the Blur setup at this shop and I took to it well. The ball comes off the face as feeling "very soft."
What I loved about this driver was that it was getting me 7 mph more in swing speed over a TM Superfast 2.0 driver.
I guess the Adams aerodynamics work.
Aesthetically, the 3 notches on the face have no effect on me at address, especially with the black color. You know Adams placed them there to help.
My ball flight gets up and flatten out. The relatively high kick point of the Blur with the high lofted head is a great combo.
Forgiveness - if you leave the club face open, it still goes right. lol. But square it up, and my bad strikes are still fairway bound with decent length. Good strikes are high, long, and straight and for me, arrive with a slight draw. As long as with other drivers when I had more swing speed. At least from the feedback, I receive from my normal playing partners. I've reduced my speed in recent years due to surgery and a swing change. So a real 90 mph swing speed is something I aspire to achieve again after being 100 a few years ago.
If you are a normal Joe and the head works for you - dabble with a shaft. I buy a driver once every 2-3 years, so I don't mind getting it fit right and enjoying it.
Good luck.
Pros: Innovative, Easy to Use, Lightweight
Cons: shaft and length

Best Driver I have ever hit. Easy to swing, I turn it over like a 3 wood. Took a little getting use to because of the shallow face, so I just teed it up a little lower and found the sweet spot.
Pros: Innovative, Good Value, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Good Aesthetics

Great performance
Date:January 16, 2012
This is the fourth Adams driver I have had and I cannot believe each one has performed better than the last.
the 9088 is a great driver for playing a course like mine that has narrow tree lined fairways. For the first time in forty years of playing golf I can deliberately play a draw with a driver. The combination of the Matrix shaft and light head are definitely a winner.
Pros: Innovative, Good Value, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Good Aesthetics, excellent combination of shaft and light head
