TaylorMade Spider Ghost Belly Putter

The TaylorMade Spider Ghost Belly Putter has a white head that contrasts with the turf to make aiming dramatically easier as the white finish eliminates glare and "hot spots." The black, easy-to-see "basketball court" alignment lines make it easy to aim while the Pure Roll Technology promotes forwardspin for a smooth roll. A new surlyn face insert delivers soft sound and feel while two 4-gram movable weights contribute to the highest moment of inertia of any TaylorMade putter.

Additional Features:

  • Grip: Winn
  • Putter Type: Belly

Every time I went into golfsmith I would try this putter out. I seem to sink just about any distance putt. I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. Coming from an odyssey 2-ball putter, the ghost belly putter was a big improvement. The roll is very true. It all comes down to your ability to read the green because this ball goes exactly where you hit it. The face design gives it an amazing roll. I knocked about 4-5 strokes off my game by sinking 1 and 2 putts. I had one 3 putt the hole day. Awesome putter!

A great decision
Date:October 22, 2011
Bought this putter a few weeks ago, and it's the best decision I ever made. Had used an old blade putter in the past, and had some very good days with it. But lately seemed to struggle, especially with short ones. Started getting a little yippy, and decided it was time for a change. Wanted to try a belly putter, and don't know why I chose the Spider Ghost. I guess the large, balanced head seemed like it would be a good match for a longer shaft, and it is. It took three or four rounds before I got used to it, or should I say, trusted it. But once I did, putts started falling in all over the place. As for the white color making it easier to line up, I don't really notice that. What I have noticed is that the grooved insert on the putter face makes the ball roll better. Putts that catch the edge of the hole are magically drawn into the cup. Don't really understand the science behind it, but it works. The large head seems very stable, but it doesn't appear overly large while I'm using it. Though it comes in a regular shaft version, I believe the belly putter is the way to go. Took a little while getting used to something stuck in my stomuch, but once I did, it's very easy to putt with. So easy, I almost feel like I'm cheating. Hope the USGA doesn't read this.
