Leupold GX-4i Rangefinder

The Leupold GX-4i Digital Golf Rangefinder offers a rugged alumnium body, a vivid OLED dislpay and line-of-site measurement when the standard chrome faceplate is attached. Snap on the included Smart Key faceplate and the GX-4i instantly becomes a coach, providing accurate ranging information that matches your personal striking distances to the slope of the shot and current atmospheric conditions, even suggesting which club to use.

Pinhunter and Prism Lock: Every GX golf rangefinder has been precisely calibrated to fire a laser beam exactly at the target in the crosshairs. Leupold's priprietary beam geometry improves laser returns from the pin and the advanced GX software accurately separates those returns from objects in the background. On courses that utilize prism technology, ranging a distant pin is even easier thanks to Prism Lock. Hold the top button to scan the area around the pin, your GX will beep and the display will freeze the moment it identifies a prism-topped flag stick.

Optical System: Leupold engineers combine precision glass, cutting edge coating technology and rugged structural components to create some of the most desired optical products on the market. The optical system in the GX golf rangefinders is built to the same exacting standards. You can expect no less than bright, clear optics, accurate ranging, low glare, scratch resistance and years of dependable use. In addition to Leupold's advanced optical precision, the GX-4i sports a vivid red OLED display which is easy to read against any background and far superior to the standard LCD displays found in most golf rangefinders.

Scan Mode: When you want multiple readings in one quick sweep, just hold down the power button on your GX-4i and the display will continuously update with accurate line-of-site measurements. As an extra benefit, on courses utilizing prism technology, you GX will beep and the display will freeze the moment you scan past a prism-topped flag stick, assuring you of an accurate reading.

Smart Key: The GX-4i is the only golf rangeinder available which converts from a simple line-of-site rangefinder to a full coaching tool with the switch of a faceplate. With the chrome faceplate attached, the GX-4i performs standard operations, simply displaying the line-of-site measurement to the pin or any object on the course. Snap on the yellow faceplat to activate the advanced features in cluding True Golf Range and Club Selector - perfect for getting to know a course and improving your golf game.

True Golf Range: The TGR feature on the GX-4i uses sophisticated, algorithmic-based software, in addition to temperature and altitude inputs to tell you exactly how far you should play a shot.

Club Selector: Taking the TGR function a step further, the Club Selector automatically recommends the appropriate club for each shot, even indicating when the distance fallse between clubs. Simply input the striking distance for three specific clubs and the GX will do the rest.

Additional features:

  • Red OLED readout
  • DNA Technology - fastest, most accurate reading in the industry
  • One-touch scan mode
  • Prism Lock technology and fog mode
  • Accuracy within one-foot at 400 yards to the pin, 800 yards to a tree

Ratings and Reviews for the Leupold GX4i Rangefinder

Write a Review for the Leupold GX4i Rangefinder
Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Leupold The guy who wrote the review must have had problems holding the unit steady, if he holds it against a finger pressed against his forehead it gets very steady. The slope information on this is awesome, using it assists me in playing faster. I use it a lot from 100 yards in, it has really helped my wedge game. I played in a money tournament a few days ago and they said I could use it if I disabled the slope feature, no problem. If I were to play in a USGA event I'm sure I could borrow a conforming range finder, but during my regular rounds I would not want to give it up. Everything works as advertised and it is very fast. Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the money I was excited about getting this based on Leupold's expertise and reputation. But I was sorely disappointed. It isn't very easy to point and shoot and get a reliable number. I shoot at a flag with trees behind and scan and it spits out a dozen different numbers, and the ones that are realistic enough to be the flag vary by several yards. It isn't very easy to always get the flag either. My friend has a yellow Callaway that you point and shoot and 1 second later gives you 1 number and it selects the flag only everytime. Worse is that many course I play have the reflectors in the stick that is "supposed" to make this foolproof. Uh-uh. Locks on 1 out of 10 times and gives the audible beep. The rest of the time is the variable shooting as always. I give it a 1 star based on the high price and low value. The slope, temperature, and other variable feature is also almost as useless. I would trade for a Bushnell or Nikon in a heartbeat... June 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by VERY FAST RANGEFINDER I was very pleased with this rangefinder right out of the box. It powers on quickly and finds targets very fast. I don't play in any tournaments so I was not worried about it being non conforming to USGA rules. The display is easy to see in all lighting conditions and the device is very easy to use. You do need to have a bit of a steady hand searching for the flag but you are still able to determine the distance to the flag with ease. Very satisfied with this product and would recommend to any one looking for a rangefinder. April 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Leupold GX4i Rangefinder Excellent product. I bought it specifically because it's one of the fastest reading rangefinders on the market. It has a number of additional features I can use, or not use if I don't want to use them. The slope feature has to be turned on to use slope; just like all the other "special" features. I don't have to use any of the other features if I don't want to. If I want distance only, it gives me that option. As with the other review, I knew before I purchased it that it wasn't USGA legal in tournaments with the slope turned on. However, it may possibly be legal with slope turned off and not using the yellow faceplate. Leupold makes some of the best optical equipment available (scopes, binoculars, etc.) I'm 100% satisfied with it and couldn't be happier. February 7, 2013
