TaylorMade R11 S Fairway Wood

The TaylorMade R11 S Fairway Wood allows you to dial in your distance. This is acheived by adjusting the loft up or down (±1°) with Flight Control Technology (FCT) and changing the face angle (±2°) and the spin rate (up to 500 RPM±) to the desired settings. The deeper face and lower center of gravity creates an easier launch and the white crown and black face makes alignment easy and eliminates glare on top.

Please note this fairway wood does not include a wrench.

This really is a Fantastic 3-wood!
Date:March 3, 2012
I tested the 15.5 degree and the 14 degree before purchasing the 14 degree with the non-TP shaft stiff shaft. The ball flight on the 15.5 degree was a little high for my liking. I felt there was some distance loss and wanted a flatter more boring trajectory. I could have opted for the 80 gram TP shaft with the higher loft but didn’t think I could properly load that heavy of a shaft with my swing speed. I’m a 6 handicap with a driver swing speed of 95-100mph. My objective was to find a 3-wood that can keep the ball down when needed, but also play a higher shot with a good load and release on the shaft. With my swing speed, the mix of loft and shaft strength was perfect. The versatility is great as you can play all kinds of shots – low, high, fade or draw. All of my testing has been on the neutral setting. The club is also very forgiving. Shots hit flush that are pushed right or snapped left do stay relatively on target. Misses that are caught very low on the face still get out there 200 yards. I was actually much more impressed with the forgiveness than anything else. As such, with the right mix of loft and shaft strength, this club will be very appealing to just about every type of golfer. That would be my parting thought. This club seems to be very playable but yet very forgiving. Usually forgiveness is sacrificed for playability (or vice versa), but that does not seem to be the case with the R11S.
