Adams Idea CMB Iron Set- 4-PW, GW with Graphite Shafts

Inspired by R11 driver innovation, the new Adams Idea CMB Iron Set features multi-material design elements and Tour-driven engineering that delivers the high-performance and buttery-soft feel better players want out of their irons. Tungsten weight inserts strategically placed low in the toe to position the center of gravity in the exact center of the scorelines. This creates enhanced feel and zero twisting at impact. These irons share similarities with classic, muscle back irons yet the zero twisting at impact and added forgiveness translate into a better player iron that can also help improve your game.

Additional features:

  • Set Composition: 4- Pitching Wedge, Gap Wedge
  • Forged 1025 carbon steel body provides exceptional feel
  • Two-piece, laser plasma-welded forged construction
  • Nickel-chrome satin finish gives these irons a unique and better player look
  • Three-way cambered sole improves turf interaction
  • Triple-milled (face, groovesand cavity) improves the scoreline design
  • Progressive performance provides consistent forgiveness and ball flight control from long irons to scoring clubs

Rated 5 out of 5 by So easy to hit, it's like cheating I've always played with blades but like all handicap golfers, we don't strike every shot pure so I was interested to see what modern technology offers. The look and feel of these clubs are good. The top line is thin enough not to make me think I'm playing with something clunky. For someone who is used to playing with blades, this was an important factor in my decision to buy these clubs. As I've only ever used blades I wasn't sure what to expect so it's difficult to review these clubs in comparison with other forgiving clubs. I've played one round with these clubs and they are the easiest set of irons I have ever hit. It felt like cheating. All I had to do was swing, connect and the ball flies effortlessy straight. My playing partner tried the 4 iron on a long par 3 and couldn't believe how much control the club gave him. He hit 10 balls in a row onto the green from the tee box and immediately said he's going to buy a set. His natural swing produces a fade and these clubs straightened his fade. This leads to the only negative point of these clubs but this is more to do with me transitioning from playing with blades more than any design fault of the clubs. I'm used to shaping shots and controlling trajectory and spin. I lost a great deal of those assets to my game today e.g. on one hole I hit my drive into the trees on the right hand side of the fairway. Normally I would bend a low 5 iron around the trees towards the left hand bunker and run the ball onto the green towards the pin. I wasn't able to pull that shot off today as the the direction of the ball went straightish with a slight fade straight into the bunker. I can see the benefits of having forgiving clubs and I have only played one round of golf with them so I'll reserve final judgement as to whether the clubs are suited for my game or whether I need to change my game to suit the clubs. If you are a golfer who generally wants to hit every shot straight and hit greens in regulation, then these are the clubs for you. Personally it bores me hitting straight shot after straight shot after straight shot. I want more from my game than just hitting the ball straight. Don't get me wrong, you can easily hit fades and draws but you are talking about small fades and draws. On the other hand if I'm not striking the ball well, using these clubs will make me feel like I'm cheating and I can revert my game plan to just hitting the ball straight. For me I hope using these clubs don't take the fun out of golf. For a lot of golfers I'm sure they will be thinking the opposite, hitting the ball straight will make their game more enjoyable so it's horses for courses. In summary, these clubs are perfect for their intended target audience. So easy to hit, it's like cheating. For me, I need to play with these clubs for the rest of the summer to see if adapting my game to using these clubs will still make golf as enjoyable as it is for me now. April 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Adams CMB's are just unreal. I've played them all, at least all the Adams clubs. I was replacing my cavity backed set of Adams forged A4's which I loved, 6-years strong, but in that time I have tried the rest, CB-1's, CB-2's, and I still have my MB'2 for my blade set. The current CMB's are just unreal, and I didn't think it got any easier to hit than the A4's but the CMB's with the Tungsten weighting are almost too good to be fair. The top-line view, the minimal sole width and offset to the lower CG all make a confidence inspiring head that really connects with the ball well, even on slight miss hits. Now, these clubs do not fix bad swings but they certainly assists in slight mis-center hits. The standard shafts Adams is using is also top of the line stuff. Adam's you and your team continue to push the envelope making clubs that keep us recreational golfers having fun on the course, I've been a loyal fan for a long time. Keep up the good work. Rated 5 out of 5 by These irons are the real deal!!! After hitting a few balls at the a local golf store in Portland, OR I was sold. Since they were not in stock I ordered them online and had them delivered next day air. I went straight to the driving range and was simply amazed. Sad thing is that here in Pacific Northwest most of the ranges are mats so I did not get a "true/pure" feel of what these bad boys can do, but from the mats I hit a piercing/penetrating ball flight that was consistsntly straight to my target! I usually have a high trajectory but not any longer. I can't wait to either take out to grass range or out on the course . March 12, 2013
