Ping Anser Fairway Wood

The Anser is Ping’s first adjustable Fairway Wood. It allows golfers to fine tune the loft of their fairway wood plus or minus ½ degree. The process is called Trajectory Tuning. To maximize distance and accuracy, the stainless steel Anser fairway wood has more surface area low on the clubface to make sure the ball contacts the club properly on the face. A rear sole weight optimizes the CG to promote a slightly lower, more penetrating ball flight with low spin, which adds distance and elevates the MOI across the face. Trajectory Tuning allows the golfer to add or subtract one-half degree of loft beyond the standard setting with the simple turn of a Ping wrench. The back of the sole is tapered to provide extra relief and ensure clean contact, even from tight lies, uneven lies, and light rough. The Ansers have a traditional shape and a straight lead edge to inspire confidence and make aiming easy. A dark nonglare, matte finish reduces distractions.

Most orders are shipped within 48 hours of online placement. Orders must be placed by 9am (CST) Monday-Friday in order to be eligible for that day's “Overnight” or “2-Day Air” shipments. Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect blend of distance, accuracy, and FEEL OH YEAH... it's super forgiving too. Beautiful head shape and size with matte black makes this PING's best fairway to date. They finally nailed what had been missing-- that extra "smash" or trampolining hot face that TM got right with their 2011 Burner. I'm hitting this 25 yards longer than the Superfast 2.0 I couldn't wait to throw in the junker. It was a nice club, except it was a hook machine and was bright white. yUck. The Anser is both ways workable and distance loss is basically nonexistant on all but the poorest of strikes. Amazing forgiving, hot, feel in the hands that still gives me enough feedback on misses. TFC800F shaft is made by UST Mayima and is a true winner. Excellent, smooth feel, and good stable tip that doesn't balloon in the proper flex. Redesigned ID/dogbone grip is an improvement also. Best thing about this and all PING clubs is they are fully customizable through the CS department at Golfsmith. I was able to order my 3w with a digitally lofted head so it plays closer to 15.5 in neutral. If you can get over the price, realize this is an investment you'll love for a long time. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow!!! This fires off the club face on a penetrating flight. I got the 3W set at netural and I can hit this 250+ yards. The looks of the club at address is like no other. It's forgiving and long. The best of both worlds. The low spin on this fairway is just like it's driver counterpart. I love it!!! November 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent club! I originally had purchased an RBZ Tour Spoon 3 to replace my ancient 3 wood and couldn't hit it worth a salt! Just not for my swing at all. When the ball was hit pure, it would literally explode off the face like a rocket and I would bomb it about as far as my driver... but my inconsistency with it made me sell it a couple of weeks later. I was in my local GS looking at new irons (Mizuno MP69's - love 'em!) when the salesman put the Anser Driver and 3 wood in my hands. Now we're talking! I walked out with the 3 wood and I now have total confidence in my swing with this in my hands. The ball flight is excellent and the minor adjustability is nice to have, though I always just leave it neutral. Overall, a great fit for my swing and almost as long as my current driver... that is, until I walk out with the Answer Driver 9.5 next week! Definitely swing this club if you're in the market for a new fairway wood. September 29, 2012
