Mizuno JPX-825 Pro 4-PW, GW Iron Set with Graphite Shafts

The grain flow forged Mizuno JPX-825 Pro Iron Set pushes the design limits to achieve greater forgiveness and feel in this “player’s” game improvement iron. The 4-7 irons offer a deep CNC milled pocket cavity that provides 17 grams of discretionary weight that is used for extreme toe-heel weighting providing plenty of forgiveness where you need it. The 8-iron through the Gap Wedge feature a full cavity design with greater thickness behind impact for a more penetrating and workable ball flight for pinpoint accuracy in the scoring irons.

Utilizing Harmonic Impact Technology, Mizuno engineers designed an incredibly strong cavity frame that allows a thinner, more reactive face for increased initial ball speed while maintaining an unbelievably solid feel at impact. A tour confirmed triple cut sole design provides the appropriate relief on the leading and trailing edges for ideal turf interaction and solid ball striking from anywhere on the course.

Features:

  • Grain Flow Forged 1025E “Pure Select” mild carbon steel provides superior soft, solid, and consistent feel
  • Enhanced COR face design for increased distance
  • 4-7 iron deep CNC milled pocket cavity for ease of launch and greater forgiveness
  • 8-GW solid full cavity design for precision and control
  • Toe/Heel weighted cavity design increases Sweet Area
  • Impact sound optimized through Modal Analysis software and Mizuno’s Harmonic Impact Technology
  • Tour confirmed triple cut sole design
  • Double Nickel Chrome plated for elegant and durable finish

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hot Face My first day out with the JPX 825 Pro convinced me that the greater ball speed I experienced in the monitor was not a fluke. The ball flies farther and even though the lofts are 1 degree stronger than my Pings, I still had all the elevation I wanted. I suspect the Fujikura Orochi shaft has really been tuned to the JPX head to give you the correct ball flight. They don't have quite the soft feel of the MP line, but they still feel very good! I could work the ball both ways at least as much as my talent will let me. There is a talent limit I have to deal with. It was a little wet on the course, but I didn't feel I had any issues with the sole. And frankly the JPX 825 Pro is a very good looking club that rests somewhere between a blade and game improvement head. December 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great up grade, or down grade I have played mizuno irons for the last 20 years. Played the mp59's since they came out, but up/down graded to jpx825 pro's a short while ago. I done this only because of age, 56, and wanted a little more distance without completely giving up the mp "look". This fit the bill perfectly! They're a club longer, really. No, you can not work the ball as you can with the mp's, and don't feel quite as good, but they're pretty darn close. Hated to give into age but this has been a great move for me. My opinion, these are great irons, but all mizuno's are great. Buy'em, you'll like'em!!!! February 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Irons... So I bought these early in the 2013 season, I'm here in the northeast. Am an 11 handicap, previously playing Callaway's X-20 irons. Can't say enough good things about these JPX-825 Pro's. I paired them with Project X shafts (5.0 graphite) and love the result; did have them fit at Golf Galaxy, they did a great job. So first, when you hit the sweet spot, what a great feel, yes, these are my first forged irons. The other thing I notice is that they are quite consistent, can hit the same shot repeatedly, er, well as consistent as an 11 handicap can. And lastly, I now have the ability to work the ball slightly left or right. And I'm sure the shaft should get props as well, the 5.0 regular flex shaft feels stiffer then what I'm used to in other regular flex shafts (I played the Callaways in both steel and graphite). I would warn that these clubs hit the ball exactly where you are aiming, they are quite precise versus a player forgiveness iron like the Callaway. That has not tempered my enthusiasm one bit, I hit more/better shots with these than the Callaway irons by far. And they are a great looking club too. Thanks Mizuno! December 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Set of Irons, Improved My Game I love these clubs. I've always used a forged club, but the JPX-825 Pro irons have elevated my game. Sure, my old clubs were bit outdated, but these are far more balanced, forgiving, and smooth. I love the club design as I stand over them. They give me greater confidence that I'll hit the shot I've envisioned. When I purchased them nearly a year ago, my handicap was an 10.4. I am now a 6.1 and it went as low as a 4.7 last summer. I attribute this improvement to these new irons as much as I do to the amount of golf played this year. November 19, 2013
