The TaylorMade R1 Driver is the one driver model that can be tuned to fit Tour pros and amateurs alike. Shot-shaping movable weights promote a neutral/straight flight or a distance-enhancing draw, and improved aerodynamics reduce drag over the head to promote faster clubhead speed. The thick-thin crown provides a lower and more-forward center of gravity location, thus promoting a higher launch, faster ball speed, and lower spin. Inverted Cone technology milled into the inner side of the clubface expands the portion of the face that delivers high ball speed.

  • Seven standard and five upright loft options between 8-degrees and 12-degrees (+/- 2 degrees) to obtain optimal launch angle

Rated 2 out of 5 by No big deal I have used the R1 driver for 10 rounds now and found out this is a lot of hype for $400. This driver is really not any big deal. I compare it to going in to an Ice Cream shop with 31 flavors, the more flavors you have the harder it is to decide what you want to order. Way too many adjustments on this club and since there is no Golfsmith around my home I have to pay $$$ at a different shop so they can help me set the club up because there is no way you are going to be able to do it on your own!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by best taylormade driver of all time i went to golfsmith to hit it in cage...fell in love with it....the following weekend went back to hit it again and then bought it...my drives have been great off the tee and 20 yards farther and down the middle...golfsmith set me up to an 8 degree loft / neutral setting...if you are looking for a great driver you need to test this driver out....you will like it and maybe own it the same day...really May 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Last club for a decade I hope The adjustability is great as I am always changing my swing. Distance is as good as possible. I have the regular shaft and its good enough. The face for all club has same COR so I guess its the shaft that matters nowadays. At least now there is no reason to buy another driver. I wonder whats the next marketing trick-lol! May 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps Getting Better Just demo'd the new R1 driver. Straight and long. It took a little time to find the right setting. The Aldila shaft is a real difference maker. No question the best Taylormade driver so far. I have owned the last 3 drivers and this is the best. With all the settings, it should come with dvd instructions. Pricey! April 30, 2013
